Have to say I was experiencing a little deja vu getting off the plane yesterday for the Mets' second visit to Colorado in less than a month. The last time here was an interesting weekend, to say the least. Back on June 23, the Mets were coming off a four-game sweep at the hands of the Braves in Atlanta and the beat writers were anxiously awaiting the arrival of GM Omar Minaya, who made last-minute travel plans to attend the series at Coors Field.

Well, Minaya isn't coming this time -- not to my knowledge anyway -- and there are a few other notable differences. The Willie Watch, which was in a full swing last time, is mercifully over and interim manager Jerry Manuel is now at the helm. In today's Mets Insider, I take a look at the five biggest obstacles for Manuel to overcome over the next 91 games.
It's going to be tough. I like Manuel and I think he's a good manager. But the Mets have some serious issues, and not just on the field. The players run this team now -- that was made clear by the axing of Randolph -- and accountability remains a problem. Something to keep an eye on.
Then again, the Mets are only 5 1/2 games out and we're not even to the All-Star break yet. Despite the avalanche of negativity this team brought upon itself this week, it's still very much alive, and the players looked ready to move on in rallying to beat the Angels in 10 innings on Wednesday, one of their more impressive wins this season.

If you ask me, I say Isiah Thomas saved basketball in this town and it was a travesty when he was let go.
Do you people really have nothing better to do than argue with yourselves under other people's names. Be a man, use your real ID, stop wetting your pants computer biatch.
In addition to Thomas being a JOKE, I just want to add that I've always wanted to venture into the world of ballet. But enough about my career ambitions, the Mets better beat the Rockies tonight.
