Apparently, Moises Alou didn't get the "miracle" he was hoping for after leaving Wednesday's game in the third inning. Alou returned to New York this morning and an MRI confirmed the initial diagnosis of a strained left calf. God only knows how long he'll be gone. The Mets called up Raul Casanova to fill his roster spot.
One other thing: with Damion Easley absent for his son's graduation, that makes Fernando Tatis the backup shortstop tonight. Just thinking out loud (yikes).

enough, already! This is killin me, drop Alou NOW. He's old and broken and the HGH days are catchin up with him. Pedro, Delgado, Alou It's time for these guys to go.
Omar has put together the WORST TEAM MONEY CAN BUY.....HE has depleted our fram system. HE has given Castillo a 4 yr deal......HE signed Alou....He traded Bannister, Nady, etc.......We have NOT ONE clutch player on this whole miserable roster....Wright and Reyes are soooooooo over-rated it is scary....Delgado is old.....Beltran is a wimpy joke.....Schneider doesn't even lay the tag down last night, Marlon Anderson cannot get to pop ups, Beltran kicks the ball around, Wright does not cove third on a bunt, Castillo is HORRENDOUS !!!
This falls on the GM FIRST......FIRE OMAR TODAY ..... Let the new GM bring in the mgr. he wants !!!
The Wilpons are a bunch of losers....They are all in front of the cameras when the team is doing well, and now they hide along with OMAR....
TRADE REYES TODAY !!! Trade him and rebuild the farm !! The Red Sox got better after trading Nomar and after they fired their GM......MEts must do the same..
Write letters, post on blogs, call wfan, call espn.....tell them we MUST .......FIRE OMAR FIRE OMAR FIRE OMAR FIRE OMAR !!

First off, Reyes is a team killer. I dont ever want to hear the comparisons of him and Jeter.
Mets should build this team around Wright. From what I've watched, hes the leader and one more non-latino players will follow. Period.
And do the Yanks a favor...fire Willie so he can come home and help bench-coach / mentor some of our younger guys.
Hate to see the other NY lose, but come on. Delgado? Beltran? Reyes? Castillo? Pedro? Alou? The Latino Cancer Club.
When Alou is in the lineup, all the Mets hit better. When El Duque and Pedro pitches the rotatiom is better. The season is a marathon, so it is said, but you still need to run all 26 miles to win it. These players (and Castillo) have a history of not finishing therefore one can not expect to win. Couldn't the money be better spent elsewhere? I hope Omar learned from this.
um, why bring up Cassanova? we already have two catchers who can't hit, we don't need a third?
where is Fernando Martinez - the OF that Omar wouldn't part with? that's what we need now. Look at Gomez again last night, we could have used him
Willie, Castillo, Delgado & Beltran all must go, and quickly. Reyes is young enough to turn it around under the right manager
my, my, my ... poor metsies swept in atlanta by a team with a shabby rotation, half the bullpen on IR, no closer, patchwork lineup (beyond the big two of Jones and Tex) and a bunch of no-names on the bench ... but that team showed heart and a lot more fire than the metsies ... wasn't it Saint Bill Parcells who always maintained: You are what your record says you are ... on to colorado.
