Tonight's game postponed; Pelfrey bumped
As expected, tonight's opener of the three-game series between the Mets and Braves has been postponed by rain. It has been rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on May 20 with the first game to start at 1 p.m.
Instead of simply shifting the rotation, however, the Mets eliminated Mike Pelfrey from his turn so as to not mess with Johan Santana, who remains on schedule to pitch Sunday. John Maine, tonight's starter, will take the mound tomorrow. As for the Braves, Tim Hudson will oppose Maine and Tom Glavine gets moved to Sunday's finale.

So then Perez still gets the home opener followed by Pelfrey I'm assuming. Then I'm guessing you can keep Maine on normal rest to close out the Phili series and let Santana open up against MIL followed by Figeuroa? That's irritating, I was all hyped to see Santana's Shea debut in the first game of my Saturday plan. Now instead I draw Figueroa?
Then again the last time I was upset about unexpectedly drawing a "no-name" starter was when a young pitcher named John Maine started in place of Orlando Hernandez on a rainy late July night. Maine blanked the Astros for nine innings that night and hasn't looked back.
