It's official: Pedro on the DL

The Mets just announced that Pedro Martinez has been placed on the 15-day disabled list and Nelson Figueroa has been activated for tonight's game against the Marlins.

Martinez was initially diagnosed with a strained left hamstring, but the Mets have not yet released any additional medical information or a timetable for his return. He was scheduled for an MRI this afternoon at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.

I cant get over the fact that we have no pitching in this organization....... You mean to tell me that in this whole world and all the prospects that are out there this team can only field 3 decent pitchers? Something is not right. UN FREAK IN BELIEVABLE!

Miss you Tug

you are stupid. shutup.

Come on then give me an intteligent smart one..............

Hey bozo the clown! Wake up! Willie and Omar don't manage to win games!!

UN FREAK IN BELIEVABLE is not even close to what the knuckleheads are doing!

Bring back Paul Loduca!!

Where are the gonads on this team anyway!!

one more.. we do have talented players, but we lack the management to bring them up properly.

You fools!!! dang you METS!!!

once again here we go, now the mets have an excuse to loose.Poor pedrooooo. he needs to call it quits, hey maybe he should get in touch with brian macnabee or whatever his name is. in short the mets season is over thank god.

I know for a fact that the Mets traded away 2 very good minor league pitchers, due to the fact they didn't speak spanish.
Why don't they hire a team translator for the players who onnly speak english?

Man, this guy has been on the DL for about 70% of the time he has been a Met. No wonder the Red Sox werent pushing to resign him after the '04 season.

Ummm no... they traded away three minor league pitchers and an outfielder for an Ace, because they didnt want to rely on Pedro as the number one!!

AM I on a Mets blog or did I cross the street accidentally and land in the Bronx??? Come on now. Stop with all the silly nonsense about english/spanish; bad trades; lousy management. Remember back to the Bobby Bonilla, Vince Coleman days when all we had to cheer abour were firecrackers and players spitting on fans.

We have a GREAT TEAM with GREAT MANAGEMENT. At the time of this writing the Mets are up 13-0 in game 3 of the season - and Nelson Figueroa...who flew in and signed his contract on the dugout steps...pitched a 1-2-3 inning.

Please remember what being A FAN is! Stop criticizing and start believing! A FAN is A FAN no matter what. Leave the conspearicy theories and racial nonsense for the Bronx. We are METS FANS!!! That means we reflect the organization...classy, knowledable, and respectful. And one more thing....we ALWAYS back our team and we're ALWAYS proud to be a fan of the NEW YORK METS.

We'll be fine. No trades. No knee-jerk reactions. Just one thing, and one thing only: LETS GO METS!

I guess the Mets find out their pitching depth from AAA is. Everyone was giving the Mets the division. Out 2 months...yeah that'll make this race interesting. Mets have to count on big years from the 3,4, and whatever #5 is (possibly a trade??).
