I know everyone wants to hate on the Mets right now, and I enjoy piling on as much as the next guy -- well, except for my colleague Wally Matthews. But I think it's worth mentioning that last year's Phillies, the self-proclaimed "team to beat," nearly got Charlie Manuel fired before righting the ship. Those Phillies lost their first three games, began the season 4-11 and were 6 1/2 games back on April 20.
Just saying. It's only six games.

Omar gave us the same losers as last year. No CLUTCH players, horrible bullpen, Reyes is mediocre, and NONE OF THEM CARE !

New Year. Same overcockiness and hubris. Maybe the problem is that they are trying to hard to forget last year. It does not work that way.They will not get rid of the stigma until or if they win the division. 90% percent of the team is the same as last years chock artists. They may have the best talent but they are not the best team until they prove otherwise. That should be the attitude. The good news is they have 6 months to finally get that in their bloated heads.
I agree FIRE OMAR, we should have replaced every single person on our team, what was Omar thinking giving us the same losers as last year? I mean, any GM knows you need to start over with new players when you lose...oh wait, that should have been FANTASY GM. Go play more fantasy baseball or something, because you're obviously not suited for reality.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a little pissed that Wright's the only one who seems to have heart and we ran the only guy on the team with any guts to Washington (LoDuca), but I'm not about ready to sit in the stadium with a paper-bag-head on.
We've got some talent, some speed and a lot of "experience" (read - old players).
Let's see how it all sits at All-Star break and then start picketing.

I'm glad that I've got a lot of good things going on in my personal life. The way you guys are taking the Mets' start, I'd think that the Mets being perfect would be your only source of joy.
Abandon ship! We should all pull for the Orioles and Royals! They know how to start a season! They'll be there in the end. I pledge allegience to Xavier Nady, the National League MVP. If you think I'm dumb for drawing those conclusions from such a small data sampling, maybe you guys are crazy for thinking the Mets stink after a WEEK! of games.
