Thumbs-up from Sancho; Lo Duca playing today
More good news on the Duaner Sanchez front. Sanchez said he felt fine this morning after his 11-pitch inning against the Orioles and is tentatively aiming to pitch again on Sunday. He insists that his shoulder is no longer a concern and hopes to pitch on back-to-back days at some point next week.
In other news, Olmedo Saenz could be calling it a career. It looks like Saenz will quit rather than report to minor-league camp, following in the illustrious footsteps of both Andres Galarraga and Bret Boone, who both announced their retirement at Mets camp. Boone, however, is back playing again with his brother on the Nationals.
As for today's game, the early word is that Paul Lo Duca will be in the Nationals lineup, batting second.
