Straw is back
The Mets announced this morning that Darryl Strawberry has been hired as a full-time instructor. Strawberry just walked in the door and still looks like he could rip a few tape-measure shots during BP.
"It's great to come home," Strawberry said. "This is where I got my start and where my heart is."

Is this just for pre-season, or will he be added to the coaching staff?
Frank
Probably a Spring Training Instructor and a roving minor league instructor.
I hope he does well
The nice thing about Straw is that he has recovered from his illness and is moving forward in the right direction. Always felt he could do it when he came to bat when the Met's needed his bat the most. If he can get some of that passed on to the guys it would be great. I also am wondering if he is only on board for the spring or full-time?
good job on the Mets not forgeting a LEGEND in Mets history like Straw. i hope Straw does well and i think he will he's overcome sooooooo much and im proud of him for staying the course and battling and ultimately DEFEATING those demons!
