Many thanks to Newsday colleague Anthony Rieber, who covered these bruised and bloody Mets over the past week. You can find him over at Ask Anthony if you're looking to have your baseball questions answered in a prompt and courteous manner.
It seems that MRIs have become a more relevant statistic these days than RBIs, and Ramon Castro is headed for one today to determine the severity of his hamstring issues.
For those Mets able to stand upright, they'll climb on a bus, hopefully buckle their seat belts, and head to Viera to face the Nationals at Space Coast Stadium. During the last visit, which was rained out on March 6, Lastings Milledge was nowhere to be found, perhaps on orders from manager Manny Acta to make himself scarce. As for Acta, here's a column I wrote about him earlier this month, mostly detailing his still close relationship with the Mets and the job he did during his rookie season in Washington.
