As long as he pitches every eight days, looks like Duaner Sanchez might be able to pull this off. Sanchez took the mound for the first time since Feb. 29 and pitched a scoreless seventh inning against the Marlins. He struck out Robert Andino on three pitches -- the third a slider on the outside corner -- but his max velocity for the 16-pitch outing was 88 mph, which he reached twice.
Afterward, Sanchez said he was about 97 percent of his 2006 form, but still was unsure of his status as far as being ready for Opening Day. "To say yes now would be impossible," Sanchez said.
