Pedro vs. the Tigers

Here's the Mets lineup for today's Pedro Martinez debut:

Reyes SS
Castillo 2B
Wright 3B
Beltran DH
Delgado 1B
Anderson LF
Castro C
Clark RF
Chavez CF

Don't have the Tigers lineup yet, but Magglio Ordonez, Carlos Guillen, Pudge Rodriguez and a very slimmed down Miguel Cabrera are here. Based on how Cabrera looks and the lineup that is going to be around him, he's got to be co-favorite for AL MVP with A-Rod.

Good news on the injury front: Castro will catch in his first game in a week. Brian Schneider said he plans to play Wednesday, which will give him 10 days to get ready for the opener. Both have hamstring issues.

Tony Armas Jr. finally arrived as his visa problems were cleared up (why didn't he just use MasterCard?). Armas will have to probably stay in extended spring training. He's not bad, so look for him in May or June to add depth in sort of a Jorge Sosa role.
