Mid-morning injury update

Just spoke with Ruben Gotay, who is walking around the clubhouse in sneakers, not the walking boot, and that's obviously a good sign. The swelling around is sprained right ankle is greatly reduced thanks to his time in the hydrotherapy pool and he's looking good for early next week.

Also watched Ryan Church take batting practice over on Field 2. Church has been taking it slow coming back from his concussion, but now that he's resumed baseball activity, it shouldn't be too long before he's back.

Brian Schneider was behind the plate for Pedro Martinez's simulated game -- another positive sign -- and Endy Chavez was in there hitting against him, so I think we can expect Chavez in the lineup tomorrow.

I'll check up on Carlos Delgado when he takes batting practice later.
