Hold up, Jose

General manager Omar Minaya put the brakes on all of Jose Valentin's retirement talk after today's 7-3 win over the Nationals. When asked about Valentin's pinched nerve in his neck, Minaya said that he is not headed back to New York for an injection, as Valentin suggested that morning. Instead, he will continue with anti-inflammatory pills in the hope of avoiding the shot. That still makes him doubtful to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster, but least Valentin isn't walking away from the game just yet.

Here's the boxscore from today's game.
