Delgado back to NYC

Uh-oh. The Mets announced this morning that Carlos Delgado has been sent back to New York for an MRI on his aching right hip. Delgado missed 17 days last season after suffering a strained right hip flexor on Sept. 4 in Cincinnati. He didn't play again until Sept. 21.

General manager Omar Minaya acknowledged that the discomfort is in the same area and the Mets expect the test results later today.Delgado complained of the problem after Friday's 5-4 loss to the Cardinals.

"We don't expect it to be an extended situation," Minaya said. "It's early in spring training and we wanted to get a look at it."

Hey David.

Ok, before it gets serious, do the Mets have a backup plan at first base? If Delgado is 'hurtin' the Mets face an enormous task trying to 'patch' a replacement; we're in trouble.

Oh, God, it's getting worse. I'm already looking forward to next February. This season is going to be a disaster. Maybe I won't even buy mlb.tv this year.

What a bunch of pu**ys you people are
