Fight club
Asked about one (unnamed) Phillies' claim to ESPN's Jayson Stark that there could be some punches thrown in the first meeting between these two clubs, David Wright smiled. He's not looking for a brawl, but he thinks Mets fans might be able to settle this in the box seats.
"We’ll move on," Wright said. "Each year, I don’t go in holding grudges. Just because Philadelphia beat us, I don’t want to fight them."
As for the fans, well, he knows tempers run hot in the bleachers. When told that Mets fans were trying to buy up seats at Citizens Bank Park, and vice versa for Shea, Wright laughed.
"I think It’s great," Wright said. "And if you want to talk about fighting, there’s a lot of fights going on in the stands. We’ll let the fans do the trash-talking for us and let the fans take care of business fighting-wise. I’m not condoning it, but it happens. All of a sudden you just see security running everywhere so you know what’s going on."

Kinda pathetic that anyone thinks the fight talk is amusing, sickening that ii is suggested that the fans settle it in the stands. It is a major problem in sports, you can't take children to NFL games. Is that what we aim for at Mets/Phils or Yanks/Sox? It's not the least bit funny. NYPD should hospitalize any fan caught brawling, old school justice can end the problem.
