Beltran "tired" of leg talk

Carlos Beltran wants everyone to know that his left quad muscle is fine. Really. So stop asking him about it. After creating a media tempest this weekend by mentioning his leg problems as a possible cause of his slump, Beltran did an about face following batting practice.

"I don't want to talk about the quad anymore," Beltran said. "The quad is fine. I don't know what you guys are trying to do. You guys go write whatever you want. Let's talk about baseball. I'm tired of talking about it."

Now that we got that out of the way, here's tonight's lineup. Notice that Paul Lo Duca is back after leaving Sunday night's game in the fourth inning because of a bruised left elbow. Lo Duca has been drilled numerous times this season on the same spot and the Yankees' Chien-Ming Wang got him again.

Reyes ........ SS
Lo Duca ...... C
Beltran ........ CF
Wright ........ 3B
Delgado ....... 1B
Green .......... RF
Valentin ....... 2B
Ledee .......... LF
Maine .......... RHP

David, you are missing the point.
Pretend you are Carlos Beltran for a moment.
You are going along carrying the team, suddenly you get banged up.
So you would "HOPE" that some of the other players pick you up for a couple weeks, right?
No David, it's the same crap except for David Wright.
Alou is Awol,
Carlos Gomez is so pathetic he is now bunting in desperation.
Delgado is a joke. .220? Que pasa Papi?? GET SOME GLASSES!
There is a new hitter in th #2 hole everyday.
And Shawn Green is no longer green.
So, what you are hearing from Beltran, is this: He is "telling" you that he WILL NOT throw his teamates under the bus. Not now. Not ever. He doesn't want to talk about it because WE ALL KNOW what he wants to say. That his fellow players have let him down. He wants to sat it, it is obvious as every Met fan has been chatting about it for weeks. But he will not say it. And he surely does not want to be pressed about the issue. Because if I were him, with the media microscope watching, I would be afraid of saying something like that. Because it is obvious and he is human.

There there, Mets bounce back with a win against the twinkies. Mets still are due for their first hot streak of the season.
Maybe now everyone can shut up. Mets will pull away....Omar, I know that you know this but we need a veteran bat, and one more arm in the Pen.
LETS GO METS !!!!!!!!!!!
Remember also: last year before the allstar break, Mets had a rough stretch before the octane kicked in...and they pulled away.

It's a good thing that the Mets are switch hitters...
Because the "Wang was too much for the Mets"....
Bad um bum (rim shot)

Beltran had a nice stroke in that big 8th inning, though everyone was hitting by then and he did have some adventure on the basepath......but he DID score on that short fly to left. Nice to see 9 Mets come to the plate in one inning again.

Where's Waldo?
Where's Alou?
