Down Goes Delgado

Carlos Delgado has been dropped from his customary No. 4 spot to No. 6 for tonight's game against the Braves. Delgado is batting only .209 and manager Willie Randolph felt that the move might be helpful as he battles out of his recent slump. Can't really blame him. Delgado went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's loss and hitting into that first-inning double play was a killer.

"We'll put him in a situation where he won't feel as much pressure," Randolph said. "See how that goes for a while."

Here's the rest of the lineup against Braves' lefthander Chuck James:

Reyes ... SS
Green .... RF
Beltran ... CF
Wright .... 3B
Lo Duca .. C
Delgado ..1B
Easley .... 2B
Gomez ... LF
Perez ..... LHP

Why in the hell is GREEN batting second?
Willie did you inhale some of the smoke from the forest flames?
Ideally, LoDuca is finally hot right now and he should bat second.
Either that or Gomez can pick it up in the two hole.
Green has no speed.
I am seeing easy outs as he more than often will put it in the air. He will slow the game down at a critical part of the lineup.
Gomez will also not be able to utilize his speed with the pitcher batting behind him.

hey willie, why not bat Oliver Perez leadoff?
As long as you are trippin
why not do something that makes some reasonable sense.
I have more faith in Oliver Perez with the bat than I do Julio Franco right now.
And as an extra bonus
Oliver can also pitch like
a mother.

Oliver Perez is the real deal.
He is electric.
If he wants to jump over the white lines like Turk Wendell that's fine.
As long as he doesn't start chewing licorice sticks on the mound and brushing his teeth in the water fountain between innings. I really miss #99 but now we got Oliver Perez.
Carl Pavano? We can't see the name on your jersey because there is a large fork sticking out of your back.
Oh well, another Yankee dollar well spent on jerks.

Cy Perez did it again to us. The Braves could have been out there until tomorrow morning and we still wouldn't have scored a run against him. Wow, he is something else. I tip my cap to Mets nation, but we'll be armed & ready for the rubber match on Thursday night w/Smoltz & Glavine going at it again. Should be great theater @ the Ted.

Yawn....Braves lose again.
How's second best feel?
Tomahawkin ?
Nothing to say?
What's a matter boobie?
It's ok to break your code.
The code of where you vanish when it goes bad for the rejects from Atlanta. But I guess you can spend this evening reminiscing about your several appearances on the Jerry Springer show with your other redneck pals.
The Mets are #1.

DA BRAVES
DA BOMB
OLIVER PEREZ
DA MASTER.
IT IS ALL COMING TEGETHER
LETS GO METS

(JOE SMITH--A ROOKIE OF THE YEAR VOTE FROM ME)

remember when you stupid mets fans booed joe smith when he gave up the grand slam to jj hardy? how hypocritical.

Hey sharraz, check what I posted 14 minutes before yours...I was there last night and gave props to Perez. We can't beat him and probably won't the rest of the year. But, you can't pitch him every night against the Braves. My scorecard has it Braves 5, Perez 3, Muts 0. C'mon admit, you're nervous about tonight facing Smoltz. 2 out of 3 every series against the Muts...Braves fans will take that all the way to October.

Remember when you stupid Yankme fans booed Jeter because he didn't get a hit for a week? New Yorkers are New Yorkers. We get mad, we boo. If we boo when you strike out with the bases loaded in the 7th, we'll still cheer you for the game-tying hit in the 9th. Everyone knows that, don't be such an idiot.

OK, I admit it, I don't even like the Braves, I just come here to annoy you people. It's fun to see how you all react when I talk about how much the Muts suck.

Tamajerk, I am always nervous about Smoltz. But to me he is like Zito. He could have been aboard the "Fiesta Metillos" but he chose to remain with a crappy team. I have put to the "voodoo boogaloo" on Zito, and now I do the same to Smoltz. I curse Smoltz and he will fall hard to the Mets in game 3. Out it in the books.

Tamahawkin, you have never fooled me...I always new you were a Tampa Bay Devil Ray"s fan.
