As much as manager Willie Randolph loves Endy Chavez, who sparked the Mets' small-ball attack in Game 2, it looks like he won't crack today's Game 3 lineup against the Dodgers Greg Maddux. Here are the matchups vs. Maddux with the Mets trying to clinch it tonight at Chavez Ravine.
Shawn Green .... .424 (14-33) ... 3 2B ... 0 3B ... 3 HR ... 10 RBI ... 6 BB ... 8 SO ... .788 SLG
Cliff Floyd ......... .247 (18-73) ... 7 2B ... 0 3B...2 HR ... 10 RBI ... 3 BB ... 17 SO ... .425 SLG
Endy Chavez ...... .150 (3-20) .... 0 2B ... 1 3B ... 1 HR ... 3 RBI ... 0 BB ... 0 SO ... .400 SLG.
Nice guess, HoJo. That is Randy Newman's picture on the previous post.

So Play Greene!!! Nothing wrong with playing the stats....
Ya know...Floyd didnt have a good year...Then again..alot of people didnt have the year Floyd did..Injuries...loss of a sister....Anyone else out there lose a young sister ?Hell I lost an older one...IT HURTS ! Go easy on Floyd..Otherwise you show you have no class..Floyd has class.
That album cover is outstanding.
Floyd is a class guy who goes out there hurt and tuffs it out.He had two hits and scored before his exit.I don't think he'll be back with the Mets next year but he's helped the team a lot during his stay.I hope he is healthy enough to play the remainder of the season and hopefully get a championship.
Floyd went out like a champ.
Mets are in the NLCS.
You can sure bet however that Trachsel
will not be back next year.
Willies hook really upset him.
But the bullpen is Willie's strength.
He wasn't messin around.
BTO "TAKINCARE OF BUSINESS" is a perfect theme. I ACTUALLY saw them open up for VANHAGAR on the 5150 tour. Alas, I am old,
but there were a group of college kids there wisecracking that formed a
mosh pit during the anthem "AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET".
"B-B-B-BABY, AI-N'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET"
That was funny stuff.
Almost as funny as the yankees biting the dust.
OOOooooooooooooohhhhhhh !
IT'S A GOOD TIME TO BE A MET.
GO METS !!!!
goodbye Yankees.
BRING ON THE CARDINALS.
I DID IT. I POSTED ON THE YANKEE BLOG, I WENT THERE AND I OFFERED THEM TISSUES.
I TOLD THEM THAT THEY ALL S*CKED AND DESERVED MISERY.
THEN I CHALLENGED THEM TO A FIGHT.
THEM I SIGNED OFF AS "BOB".
I'm a huge Mets fan but they were a little lucky. Especially in Game 1 (the double play at the plate). Beltran --- apparently banged up ---will have to hit like on the Astros in the Playoffs --- if the Mets are to have any hope of winning it all. And Reyes will have to get on base with egularity.
I can't find Melanie's pro-Cardinals reference, but do the older Mets fans remember how we HATED the Cardinals. That three game series in '85 where the Mets needed to sweep the Cards(but only won the first two), was the best regular season series I ever saw played by the Mets.
Can't say I get particularly worked up by the Cards or the Padres. Just hope we beat them.
MT: Howard Johnson taking Todd Worrell deep a few times. That helped fuel the rivalry. Worrell threw it, HoJo hit it. And Worrell threw as hard as anyone. HoJo never saw a fastball he didn't like. Howard's Worrell homeruns were electric and a real force.
All the Met fans? Are you taking turns? You know?
Taking turns to pleasure yourselves?
Are you all posting on the Yankee blog?
Real mature.......keep trying.
Savvy:
I would think that a Cardinals fan would want to discuss the second most storied franchise in the NL (after the Dodgers). As for the present, Jeff Weaver sounds fun for game one. Pujols better lead both teams in walks.
Frank D -- well done about Hojo. I remember McCarver (back when he was the best broadcaster in baseball) stating that Hojo was the best fastball hitter he had ever seen then Hojo promptly hitting a grand slam.
David Lennon: Please stop stalking Joe Torre's relatives trying to get a scoop. What is the health of Carlos Beltran already?
METS WIN 4 GAMES TO 2.
SERIES MVP IS ENDY CHAVEZ.
LARUSSA RESIGNS AFTER SERIES.
You have to excuse Andy. He's a tool who kept getting OWNED so badly on the Yankees blog that he now has to come over here and somehow try to redeem himself. You guys should have read his "final" post on the Yankees blog, where he whined and cried like a little girl about how the big bad Mets fans kept insulting the Kings of Choke, Da Yankees. It was SO pathetic and so typical of a Yankee fan.
NEWS RELEASE.
AP: Jim Baumbach was arrested today while stealing trash from a dumpster outside of George Steinbrenner's condo complex.
When asked for comment, Baumbach yelled something about "Woodward and Bernstein" he also blurted out something about
George Steinbrenner "mixing in his recyclables with the regular garbage".
Newsday has no comment.
That's it keep on being stupid Met fans. Make fun of me all you want. I am not an idiot. I have a college degree and I am sure I make more money than all of you combined. Women think I am really sexy and I take them to Yankee games
not that dump shea stadium.
I think that it is childish that you losers come over to the Yankee side of the blog. Especially when it really made me sad that George Steinbrenner didn't get another ring, lord knows that man deserves it. What does Fred Wilpon deserve? He deserves no excuses for 20 years of ripping off a city who deals in good faith with him.
Hey, I can hook you up with
one of my Yankee girlfriend's but they don't like impoverished toads.
Keep me in your thoughts. Bye.
DAVID LENNON: THE MET NEWS IS NOT
AT BRIAN CASHMAN'S HOUSE. WE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
STOP DRIVING BY HIS RESIDENCE WITH THE CAR LIGHTS OFF.
STOP NEGLECTING MET FANS. ENOUGH.
PLEASE REPORT ON THE METS INSTEAD OF ANGLING FOR A
YANKEE BLOG TRANSFER LIKE RIEBER.
I always use caution in responding to a post by a "huge" Mets fan knowing full well they'll never post their weight along with their message. I weigh 375 lbs. and counting thanks to the Utz Chip Co. LET'S GO METS ! ! !
