The Mets did a great job in picking Darryl Strawberry to throw out the ceremonial pitch for tomorrow night's Game 1 of the NLCS.
Is there anyone that you might have wanted more?

A ceremonial battery of Jesse Orosco and Gary Carter to commemorate the final outs in the '86 playoffs and World Series !
They actually already did that on Opening Day this year. Jesse Orosco forgot to throw his glove up and Gary Carter pretended that he was going to jump in Jesse's arms but knew at their age, that wouldn't be smart!
Would like to see Hernandez throw out a first ball at an NLCS game. Being that he's also a former Cardinal, there was some bad blood between him and Whitey Herzog back in the 80s.
If the truth be known the guy that got passed over was none other than No Vaughn. If Darryl has to throw out the 1st ball, why didn't Minaya try to spring Doc Gooden from the pen in Florida for a 1 day furlough ?
