When asked about the availability of Cliff Floyd before tonight's Game 5, manager Willie Randolph said his status was basically unchanged -- pinch-hitter until he hears from his leftfielder that he's ready for the starting lineup.
It was then that Randolph was told that Floyd has his own blog, and he's been giving health updates there to the wired public. The manager thought that was funny.
"I don't read his blog," Randolph said. When another reporter mentioned that he needs to keep up on this stuff as a manager in the 21st century, Randolph laughed. "Everybody's got a blog. I'd be on the computer all day."
Join the club, Willie. And FYI, Endy Chavez is in leftfield again tonight.

When is Willie going to give Endy Chavez a little bit of respect? Name him the starter---PERIOD.
I know that Floyd is the spiritual leader of the mets, but Chavez is not only a great hitter right now. But he is the mets best defensive outfielder by a large margin......he can't make things happen by being Cliff Floyd's caddy.
Give the flower it's own pot, maybe you'll get a garden going.

I just wanted you to know that.
A "game 6" at Shea. Is there really any doubt we won't win? Two consecutive wins. Not a big deal for this team. Let's go Mets!
JoeC, your grammar indicates to us on the blog that it is certain the mets will not win game six at Shea Stadium. Perhaps, your intention is to state the opposite, and your lack of a proper education is preventing you from doing just that. But, I just wanted to pass that along in case you were going to attend game six in person or maybe even a local sports bar to view the game, and had decided to make a banner. Making that very same statement.
are you going to save me if i go under tim?
this last post is not me he is a jerk but the mets go down tonight
charles, don't be such a know-it-all , nobody like a know-it-all. Get off of your high horse and enjoy the game already. PS. I bet you sleep in met pajamas and have a met lamp next to your bed. u freako
Bob, remember if you start to drown in bathwater......just use your rubber duckie as a floatation device. Or, you can simply unplug the drain.
Just noticed on FA list- Would be nice to see Shannon Stewart or even David Dellucci in left- both are pretty producive righties- Maybe Mark Loretta @ 2nd base. That guy's consistent as hell. And then two thorns from the past- Vicente Padilla, (or Gil Meche) and Randy Wolf- to pitch with Glavine and give Pelfrey and Bannister a shot. And retain the bullpen if possible. More than a few tweaks that should get us to the next level. No to Moises and Lugo PLEASE!!!!!!
