Even though he never put peace in the mind of receivers going over the middle, we ask now that Sean Taylor rest in peace, who died Tuesday morning after being shot at his home in Miami on Monday.
What happened to the 24-year-old Redskins free safety and father to a 1-year-old daughter named Jackie is shocking.
We expect our athletes to shine on the field, do their media bits, handle their charitable obligations and maybe make the news for a bar fight or something similarly innocuous on the large scale.
We never expect to watch or read the news that a player in the prime of his life was shot and killed within 48 hours of his team's latest game.
This is one of those stories in sports where it doesn't matter what team you are a fan of, or whether or not you think Daniel Snyder is a bad owner. This is one of those stories in sports where you just feel weird all day and hope there's a good support system in place for Taylor's daughter, robbed of her father before she even had a chance to walk, and family.

he was my role model never knew him like that always watch him play the game of football and the things i said to myself was I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE HIM......
As the sports media trips over itself to find a way to blame the victim, me need to remember that a little girl lost her father. As the son of a murder victim, all that concerns me is that kid.

This is senseless, once again an athlete is targeted by thugs. I haven't always agreed with Taylor's actions and run-ins with the law but I am a father. It is very upsetting that someone would do this, I pray for his family, his daughter and loved ones. Until we address the senseless goons and problems of these neandertholic persons that feel as they should take and not work for anything, this can repeat itself. May God ease the burden on The Taylor family, and believe this justice will be served.
i look up to sean taylor, he is my idol. i wanna be like him when i go to the league he is my favorite player in the nfl so i think we all should just look and thank GOD he was here for the time he was here, it was good seeing him play in the state championship in highschool and knocking people heads off in college aND THE NFL.

I turned on the news this morning, and could not believe what I heard. It shocks me that he is no longer with us.. He was a player that I think most coaches would like to have on there team. Sean was one of my favorit players on the Redskins. What hurts me the most is that he was a father of a 1-year old baby girl. No child should be with a father. My thoughts and prayers go out to Sean and his family. GOD BLESS THE TALOR FAMILY!
RIP
Sean Taylor
I cannot claim to know much about Sean Taylor or his career in the NFL. Truthfully, my ownly real interactions with Sean Taylor was as a player in the Madden video games, where he was a stable as a Safety for me. Obviously none of this matters. What matters is that a man was senslessly taken from this planet, from his family who he loved, and from the fans who loved him. I extend my condolences to his family and to all those who loved him. And to paraphrase a line that I heard earlier this year: "Heaven must've needed a Free Safety". R.I.P. Sean.
I can remember when Sean Taylor was at the U he a nasty player and a good way, it's sad to watch someone like that leave us so soon. I would always keep him in my hart.
I am not a huge fan of football.. but this story touched my heart.
I didn't know you, but rest in peace Sean. You will be missed!!

Sean Taylor was an inspriation to younger youth to play football. He was an amazing person and player, i loved watching him hitting people and causing them to fumble the ball. I think he is the best Free-Safety in the NFL. we should all thank God for allowing him to play football, so that we can enjoy him at what he did best!! He is my NFL idol, he gives me hope i can play in the NFL. We will miss you Sean Taylor. May God bless your family in the time of need.

he was a good man
I think that sean taylor will be missed dearly by fans friends family and his wife and daughter, his death was stupid of whoever done this dumb thing to him and i hope the person who tried to rob his house and shot him is pnished for this not because sean taylor is a player but because of what he stood for the way he changed his life around just to be a good no great father for his daughter jackie he showed a new side of him on and off the field after his daughter was born hopefully we can all learn from this tradgedy that has happened this past waeek and look at sean taylor as a great father and teammate and not a bad person or a criminal.

Man, thats messed up man. I liked watching Sean Taylor play every since he played for Miama University. I hope he rests in peace and my heart goes out to his daughter and his family.
God Bless!!
he was cool he was the best he was the MAN but now he is in a better place
Being from the DC area, and a big skins fan, it was automatic that I was a fan os Sean Taylor. Now he had some run in's with the law, but that alone doesn't make you a thug. Yes, it was very upsetting to hear some of the national news coverage talk about him like he was some thug. or that he deserved this, but in reality, he was not even close to being a thug, just a young man who made some bad decisions before, but someone who had seemed to learn from his mistakes. But listening to the national media, all you heard was his past mistakes, and painting him out to be someone who couldn't leave the streets alone. Funny how the media gets worse as time goes on.
the news hit me hard for several reason, I was a big fan, I'm a father, and you could tell he loved his family and friends. I will remember him as the best player I have ever seen at that position (25 years of watching footbal), and as someone who was indeed a decent man who is a hero. Any man who will protect the ones he loves by laying down his life so that they can live is a Hero!
God bless his soul
My heart go out to Sean family. We would always get hype when we see him go out on the field. My six year old was inspired by Taylor he try to wear his jersey everyday before this happen. I pray whoever did this senseless and vicious crime be punish to the max. I say to the family, daughter, and girlfriend stay strong "God Has Him Now" and remember he is your Guardian Angel. I lost my mom just this year so I know what you're going through.
The whole Washington DC metropolitan are misses Sean Taylor. On the day he passed It was almost like a silence fell over the entire city.
Condolences to the Taylor family and friends, The Washington Redskins, and to everyone who was touched by Sean Taylor may he Rest In Peace.
Sean, we love you but God loves you more.

Sean Taylor put it all on the line everytime he stepped on a football feild... Every single Redskins fan and football player better show him your respect and love when the Skins take the feild this weekend. He was my favorite player, he was a great man and he was a great teammate. R.I.P. Sean, I wish God hadn't decided to take you so early but the place you are in now is far better than the world we are left in.
I would watch you on TV and say, man can you hit. You were just getting your head together. No little girl should grow up w/o her dad, just because of a robbery. He probably would have given it to them. High respect for you #21
God Bless!!
rip sean taylor...its a shame you had to go the way you did, i guess god wanted your for a pretty good reason...gone but NEVER forgoten
R.I.P SEAN TAYLOR #21
