Word on the street today was that Carl Pavano showed up and threw a baseball around on the first day of spring training with the Yankees.
Not ready to believe that, I checked the wires here at work and found this AP photo with today's date on it.
How about that? Pavano pitched today. Sort of. Didn't even get hurt. Yet!

Behold one of the rarest sights in nature while it lasts, for not long he'll retreat back to his cave to lick his wounds and count his cash, before settling down for next winter (typically by June).

Funny thing is I went to Modells only to see Yankees jerseys for 14 dollars. Pavano's jersey, however, was on the clearence rack for $7.88. But I will say this much! I don't agree with any negativity on Pavano. The comments made by Mussina and their truce have fired him up. I can see it now 2007 stats- 17-9 3.95 era, # 3 starter in the playoffs. Call me crazy but I am the go to baseball guy. You will not refer to me as crazy at the season's conclusion.
Pavano has feelings hurt on backstab by Mussina. Out 3 - 5 weeks.
