Book review: 'Country French Kitchens'

french

“Country French Kitchens” by Carolina Fernandez, (Gibbs, Smith, $29.95): Warmth and comfort radiate from the pages of this book as readers take a tour of well-lit, colorful and practical kitchens in homes in Connecticut and New York State. The author explains the choices of textures, fixtures and floor plan to ensure authenticity in style and function. Bright, colorful photos, many revealing a fondness for light yellow, orange and brown, provide examples of the wide variety of styles and personal choices involved in creating a country French kitchen.

Thank you for reviewing my book! There are twenty-six kitchens featured, in not only Westchester County, NY but also in Fairfield and Litchfield Counties in Connecticut, and in Pennsylvania as well. My own down-to-the-studs renovation and installation of an authentic Country French Kitchen was not started until the manuscript was turned in; however, my new kitchen is on the cover of the magazine Connecticut Homes and Gardens in the brand new Fall 2008 issue. Check out the feature article "Kitchens with Personality." Again, thank you. Enjoy!
