With the help of several local contractors, unions and nonprofits, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Wyandanch was able to rebuild its outreach center, which was destroyed by fire in the last week of December.

On Friday, the Long Island-New York City chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) delivered another helping hand to the outreach center, which provides food and clothing to needy families. NARI members participated in the group's community service program by building shelving and closets inside trailers that are being utilized as temporary storage facilities.

"This is such a valuable service," said Barry Goggin of Barry Goggin Construction, who served as project manager. "We're happy to help restore the outreach center so that they can continue helping the people in the community."
The project was an all-day affair and featured assistance from the following NARI members:
James Flanagan and Mike Halderman of Flanagan Contracting of Dix Hills; Kent Buell and Jonathan Conrad of Kentstruction of Medford; Elmer Garcia and Juan Salas of Creative Innovations; Edison Gaynor and Joshua Johnson of Double D Contractor of Hicksville; O. Deleon of Bridge Capital Solutions; and Kevin Wrynn of Kevin Wrynn Carpentry.

Also chipping in with supplies were Jim Dorr from Dormers Only of Wyandanch; 84 Lumber Company and Five Star Cabinets of Valley Stream. Finally, Dawn Cameron of Wells Fargo brought brought lunch to all the workers on behalf of her church, Greenlawn Presbyterian.
