Alure Home Improvements, the East Meadow remodeler that has participated in several New York-based episodes of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," has agreed to help a family in New Orleans, La. The show will be the last in a 50-state tour for the ABC program.
Alure President Sal Ferro says the decision to join a coalition of builders to construct a home for a needy New Orleans family, still hurting because of Hurricane Katrina, was an easy one.
"It's unfortunate and a shame that so many Americans in need have been forgotten about, and
we are proud to team up with 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' to help show the world what can be accomplished when we all pitch in to help make a difference," Ferro says.
This will mark the seventh time Alure has joined forces with the TV show for a remodeling/construction project. The show is calling for volunteers to work in New Orleans in early March. The program is scheduled to air in May, as part of a two-hour season finale.
