Nassau property up? Down? Both?

While the Nassau County assessor says that properties are up 2.7 percent this year, homeowners say the exact opposite is true, according to today's Newsday. To prove the point, Celeste Hadrick talked to Vincent Jambrone, who says he was told this month that his Hicksville home had increased in value from $527,200 to to $558,300. "He said he wished he could find a buyer at that price," according to the article, which quoted him as saying, "I offered to sell it to anybody over at the assessor's office."
