While members of the Long Island Builders Institute have lent a huge helping hand restoring the outreach center at Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church in Wyandanch, some local contractors have pitched in, too.
The church's outreach center, which aids families with food and clothing, burned down recently. Last week, LIBI members helped install two ramps and a temporary storage facility.
Welsbach Electric, a Plainview contracting firm, and Long Island Locals 25, 1049 and 1381 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) also furnished electricians and materials to complete the job.
Locals 25 and 1049 have headquarters is in Hauppauge; Local 1381 is in Hicksville.
