The East Hampton estate where millionaire financier Ted Ammon was blugeoned to death has been rented out for the 2008 summer season. The south-of-the-highway Middle Lane tudor fetched $275,000 for the season.
The 52-year-old Ammon's body found in his second-floor bedroom of the house in 2001. Daniel Pelosi -- who married Ammon's widow, Generosa, three months later -- was convicted of the murder in 2004. Generosa Ammon died of breast cancer in 2003. The estate is now owned by the Ammons' twins.
The 7,000-square-foot house is fullly furnished with much of the art and collectibles that Generosa Ammon held near and dear. There are seven bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, as well as a solarium, a library, a gourmet kitchen, a heated pool, a pool house and a 2.5-car garage.
The house, which is on more than 2 acres, also reportedly has a room where the Ammons could have hidden from intruders.
The property is near comedian Jerry Seinfeld's house and the ocean.
Town & Country Real Estate
in East Hampton had the exclusive listing on the rental, which was also available for $375,000 for the year.

I drove over to the Ammon estate in East Hampton last weekend andfound it to be absolutely magnificent! I did a lot of research on what happened surrounding the murder and my heart still breaks for Ted Ammon and his children. I was surprised to see that someone was renting this home and I was wondering if the home had been rented before. Is everything in the home still the same as it was years back? I don't think I would be able to stay in there knowing what took place and the brutality of the killing to what seemed to be a wonderful man. I main reason for this post is to find out any information on the Ammon twins. I wanted to know how they have dealt with all this and if they ever visit the Ammon estate or just rent it through a realtor. I read they live in the South. My heart breaks for them.
