Perry Como's grandson selling Huntington house

como

Late crooner Perry Como never got to see his grandson Peter's Huntington house, but he would have liked it, says Kim Como, Peter Como's wife who is listing the house on behalf of the Cold Spring Harbor office of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. "He was such a modest guy," says Kim Como of Perry Como, who once lived in Sands Point. "We just loved our cozy little house, just like he would have." The asking price for the 1920 Craftsman-style home is $569,000. The four-bedroom, two-bath house went on the market in October, and the Comos accepted an offer, but the deal fell through right before Thanksgiving. The property has in-ground sprinklers, central air conditioning and, in the back, an electric awning and a deck. Peter Como, one of 13 grandchildren, is moving with Kim and their two sons, Oscar and Henry, 8 and 6, to Cold Spring Harbor, where they are restoring a house. Como, a New York City firefighter and flight instructor, is also a volunteer firefighter in Cold Spring Harbor, where he grew up.
