This Georgian estate was built in 1680, although only "the tiny center hall" is supposedly original to the house, says Patrick Mackay, president of Piping Rock Associates in Locust Valley, which is listing the Matinecock property. Holly House, as it is called, is set on 11.4 acres of "rolling lawns and rose gardens," says Mackay, adding that the two huge box bushes by the front door "are supposedly pre-revolutionary." The 27-room house was built for the Cocks, a farming family. The Slater family, which has owned the home for some time, is asking $7 million.
