Jon and Sharon Luther purchased a newly constructed five-bedroom traditional home on Pleasant Lane in Southampton village after nearly a year of looking, says Gale Conetta of the Corcoran Group. The house, which the couple plan to decorate using local designers, had been listed for $3.45 million.

Jon Luther, known to friends as “Jack”, is the CEO of Masachusetts-based Dunkin’ Donuts. The couple bought the 4,000-square-foot shingled home as a summer retreat for their family, making sure there is plenty of room for the grandkids, Conetta says. They also recently purchased a home in Palm Beach, Fla.

The Luthers are now listing the property with Corcoran as a rental for the month of August 2008 for $65,000.

Donuts not included.

Why not Cape Cod or the islands if he is from Massachusetts?

$65k for the month of august?

That's over $2k per day!!!

Looks like we have to up the taxpayer funded salaries of the local government workers so they can afford to stay here!
