The October issue of Metropolitan Home features a Bridgehampton spec house which has been upgraded to suit the tastes of its owners, Amy and Lee Jackson.
The Manhattan couple enlisted the help of interior designer Betty Wasserman and architect Anthony Minichetti to redesign their six bedroom, shingle style weekend retreat, infusing it with a simple and serene “Zen” feel.
Wasserman’s major task was to change the country style kitchen, which she accomplished by replacing every surface in the room including the cabinetry, counters and work area walls. The granite counters became Luce di Luna quartzite and the pink subway tile backsplashes were swapped for marble mosaic. Even the kitchen’s island was reconfigured.
“I take stone and tile very seriously these days and plan that part of my schemes first,” Wasserman tells the magazine, adding, “in the kitchen and several of the bathrooms here, these materials play a major role.”
