Long Island landlord likes eavesdropping, police say

Finding a bug in the kitchen cabinets might be a renter's nightmare, but not for tenants of one Shirley home. As Newsday reports, the landlord, John Gordon, "purchased what was described as a "mini-electronic transmitter" over the Internet and then, police said, unlawfully entered the apartment and placed the device under a kitchen cabinet in order to listen to conversations."
