Listing of the day: John McEnroe's family's former estate in Cove Neck
A Cove Neck compound where tennis player John McEnroe and ex-wife, Tatum O'Neal, once lived is on the market for $6.5 million. The property is now owned by Grammy Award-winning record producer Ric Wake, who is said to be working on projects with Ginuwine, Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson. The 20,000-square-foot "palatial Beverly Hills compound," as its listing describes it, includes the four-bedroom main house ((which includes a spa, a gym and a wine room), a pool house, a guest house, a carriage house with a ballroom, and a garage with apartment space.
McEnroe's parents once owned the property. McEnroe and O'Neal renovated the carriage house, where they lived for a time. The parents continued to live there after McEnroe moved out.
The listing is with Barbara Brundige and John Martin of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
The house is located on Tennis Court Road, so named, says Brundige, for "a beautiful old indoor tennis court at the bottom of the street on the water."
