by Matthew Hay Brown
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who introduced legislation last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney, is now aiming higher.
On the House floor this evening, the Ohio Democrat proposed impeaching President Bush. In language similar to that in the articles of impeachment he raised against Cheney, Kucinich sought support for a 35-count indictment charging Bush with misleading Congress and the American people into war with tales of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Democratic House leaders have opposed impeaching Bush or Cheney as an unhelpful distraction. They were nearly embarrassed last year when Republicans voted to take up Kucinich's effort against Cheney in order to force a debate; they are unlikely to let the matter get so far this time.
Bob Fertik, president of Democrats.com, one of the groups pushing for impeachment congratulated Kucinich on his "historic leadership."
"We've waited seven years to find one Member of Congress brave enough to stand up for our Constitution, for which generations of Americans have fought and died," Fertik said. "We are thrilled and honored that Dennis Kucinich has chosen to be that one genuine patriot."

Wasn't that one of the promises of the democrats in 2006? Also, weren't they going to defund the war? Just a bunch of empty campaign promises to following sheep.

I support Dennis 100%.
Impeachment hearings are the only way to compel testimony from those who've blown off Congressional subpoena's (i.e. Harriet Myers and Karl Rove).
Even this late in their terms, this administration should be held accountable for a long long list of misdeeds. It is Congress' duty to hold such hearings.

After Scott McClellan testifies, this is a notion that may get some traction. I personally would love it.
And wouldn't some impeachment proceedings make the summer general election something to remember? Wow.

GOOOO DENNIS!!!
The Prez is a pig in a poke. a goose in a noose. The only thing keeping BushCo's feet out of the fire is audacity and the belief that no one would dare take them to task. So far they've bluffed everyone else into submission. I am grateful that paper is being published on this. Once that rock starts rolling, everything hiding under it will come to light!

Dennis is the ONE person with the balls to bring this tribe of war criminals to justice.
Yet all the others in congress call this an "unhelpful distraction". Each one who opposes this action should be called into account.
I suppose salvaging what's left of our constitution is not worth the effort...

President Bush, should be impeached and furthermore, he should, along with Dick Chaney and other cabinet members should be tried in an international court of law. The is the only way America can save itself, from the blow back and hatred of the world, that will last for many years to come. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians have been murdered for the unscrupulous greed of Bush, Chaney, and their evil counterparts. Great job Dennis.
Posted by: Great Job | June 9, 2008 10:44 PM
I commend Dennis for standing up for the Constitution and for the majority of the informed people of the United States who know the unconstitutional, illegal and immoral acts that this administration has committed. They should be tried and held responsible for what they have done.

A real American patriot doing his job as Congressman!!!
Sad we have only ONE.

Posted by: PatG | June 9, 2008 10:48 PM
Impeachment is not the answer to America's problems. If there is anyone that should be impeached it is the American electorate, those who voted for an obviously incompetent individual. They are the ones who allowed this unAmerican into our White House, an unAmerican that didn't even have the backbone to answer the call of his country in the time of the Vietnam war. That is the real crime here. As the old saying goes: you can lock up a thief, but you can't lock up a liar and that was his specialty !! We believed him, we voted for him and we fell for his bait, hook, line and sinker !!
An impeachment process at this crucial time will only side track the important national business, at hand !! We have an important election to hold, an election that will determine if we elect another, like him, Senator " Questionable Conduct " McCain or a young man with fresh ideas and the heart to work for them and for America !! It is the same choice for the third time, I hope and pray we get it right this time,if not, then proceed with the impeachment, of the American electorate, for being so stupid !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.
Posted by: Don Fitzgerald, Chicago | June 9, 2008 11:04 PM
I cannot understand what the hell the other Democrats in the House are thinking by not supporting this. I am so disappointed in the Dems who think this about taking the higher ground. If Bush shouldn't be impeached we should just throw the whole notion of impeachment out the window.

Representative Kucinich,
I am sure you will find the following information inspiring:
McClellan To Testify In
Congress Under Oath
6-9-8
From: Congressman Robert Wexler
Date: June 9, 2008
Breaking Impeachment News: McClellan To Testify
Our campaign for accountability for the Bush administration is making legitimate progress.
I am pleased to announce to you that the House Judiciary Committee has met my public call for Scott McClellan's immediate testimony with action:
Today, Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers officially invited Mr. McClellan to testify under oath on Friday, June 20th at 10AM.
After all of our hard work pushing for impeachment hearings for Vice President Cheney the McClellan hearing provides our cause with a legitimate opportunity to showcase the crimes and violations of this Administration for the American people, the mainstream media, reluctant members of the Democratic party, and sensible Republicans. This hearing provides us our first genuine opportunity to enter the public consciousness and change the dynamics that have prevented true accountability for Bush and Cheney.
Mr. McClellan was a major figure in the Valerie Plame/CIA scandal, as well as a leading propagandist for the Bush White House's deliberate attempts to hide the true costs of this war from the American public. As such, Mr. McClellan will testify under oath (and be subject to perjury charges should he lie) and be asked about the following matters:
1. What role did President Bush, Vice President Cheney , and key administration officials take in the effort to reveal the identity of covert CIA agent Valeria Plame Wilson thus destroying her network and putting lives in jeopardy?
2. What role did President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and key administration officials take regarding the firing of U.S. Attorneys or political reasons?
3. What role did President Bush, Vice President Cheney, key administration officials take in conspiring to blatantly break U.S. and International laws prohibiting the use of torture?
I call on Mr. McClellen to immediately accept this invitation and testify under oath as he previously agreed to while being interviewed on national television.
During the hearing I will have roughly five short minutes to question Mr. McClellan and undercover the illegalities committed by this Administration which is why it is critically important that every representative on the Judiciary Committee hears your voice. Please let them know that you demand answers to these questions.
Nor should it stop there: Karl Rove has thumbed his nose to the Judiciary Committee's subpoena joining Harriet Miers, Joshua Bolten and Vice President Cheney's Chief of Staff David Addington as the only Administration officials in history to claim Congress has no power to even bring them before a committee to be questioned.
I have called for Karl Rove to be held in inherent contempt and for the other renegade officials to appear as required by their subpoenas, or be forced to do so by the House Sergeant of Arms.
What the Judiciary's request of McClellan proves is that if we stay vigilant if we call loudly and repeatedly for accountability - that we become very difficult to ignore.
Please stay tuned. I hope for more developments soon.
With great respect,
Congressman Robert Wexler

Posted by: Betty Childs | June 9, 2008 11:22 PM
It's actually a pretty stupid idea. There is no way the Democrats are going to try to impeach Bush the year of an election without any really convincing and compelling evidence of purposeful wrongdoing, of which there is none-nor ever was.
Kucinich is a little nut. This is the kind of thing that will just get the right wing all jacked up to where they will be more willing to support John McCain-a man whom a great many of them don't actually like. In a lot of cases, they actually hate the man.
So along comes the little Smurf from Cleveland with a plan to inflame passions on the right and possibly induce them to support McCain after all. Brilliant.

As you are probably well aware, thus far, apart from the news services, Reuters and Associated Press, no other mainstream media organization has reported on this.
I hope you intend to do a follow-up; readers are very hungry for this kind of real news.
Thanks again.

Sure, and let's impeach Congress too for their failure to declare war, as required by the U.S. Constitution. I get so tired of Kucinich and others in Congress calling for Bush's impeachment when if they had not shirked their duty we would not be in Iraq. Bush lied but Congress did not verify. For shame, Kucinich.

I'm so proud of Kucinich for being brave enough to stand up to this administration and do the right thing. It's pathetic that he's seen by the establishment (e.g. Pelosi) as being on the fringe - for the modest proposal that we actually impeach a President for the most valid of reasons imaginable.
A good way to fight back is to support Cindy Sheehan's bid against Pelosi, to punish the Bush enablers.

amazing that it has taken this long for one person somewhat inside the washington 'belt' loop to call for the obvious action against one of the most cowardly, deceitful, manipulative and shameful public self-servants in America's once proud history. Good for you, DK. How I'd love to KO the coup-Prez and out him for eternity as the lowlife, conniving, cowardly war mongering, rich boy boot lickers, despite his phoney ya'llisms (where did he buy that fake 10 gallon accent? at Yale?) he truly is.

Reply to Don Fitzgerald:
The point is not that impeachment is supposed to "solve" America’s problems; this is about upholding our constitutional obligation and promise of applying punishment justly… and, if we don’t impeach these war criminals we’re going to have a lot more of the f*ckers thinking they can get away with the same. No. Never again.
The "old saying" you refer to isn’t law. In many cases, lying is criminal, and (for your information) not everyone believed the Bush/Cheney lies though it sounds like you did and I understand that may still be a bitter, bitter pill to swallow. I suggest you actually read the 35 counts Dennis brought forward.
It’s never too late to the right thing, and if we plan to preserve the little we have left to this "democracy" we need to start impeachment proceedings now. Dennis Kucinich is larger than life and the greatest patriot in America right now.
Cheers,
Heidi

This will only help Bush by making it look like the democrats are crazy extremists who are out to get him.. Kucinich has further marginalized himself as a national politician. I previously didn't think that was possible. Thank God for democrats or republicans would have no chance this year.
Posted by: Jeff | June 10, 2008 1:04 AM
Wow, glad to see all you do-gooders feel so good about yourself about a nobody like Kucinich saying impeach Bush. Just remember Gore, Kerry, Clinton (both of them), Kennedy, Pelosi and all your liberal buddies supported the war ..."I cast this vote with conviction" Hilary Clinton. And in typical modern Democrat tradition, when things go south you're quick to jump ship and point the finger. I don't remember the Democrats being so hard on each other when a Democratic President started the Korean and Vietnam Wars....which took a Republican president to end both of those disasters.
And if all Obama can do is try and compare McCain to Bush...all McCain has to do is compare Obama to the Congress and it's 18% approval rating, then all you bleeding hearts will be crying more so in November when McCain wins. You thought Gore losing in 2000 hurt, just wait...the Democratic Party will finally be put in the ground where it belongs!

Posted by: BarefootBruce | June 10, 2008 1:09 AM
Too many Repubs to impeach. Politically useless. That wasn't a campaign promise in '06, either. In fact, Pelosi was dead set against it (a distraction as was stated above. Stopping the war was a promise... again, too many Repubs.
Make no mistake, I'd love to see the war criminals dragged down and tried for their crimes (off to Guantanamo with them), but it won't happen. Have to match the ideals with the political reality, sadly. At least Bush is completely lame duck and might not be able to cause too much more damage. I's a shame, as Bill Clinton was pulled down for crimes that were far less.
Posted by: Miles | June 10, 2008 1:16 AM
Isn't it just a little odd that Congress--Democrats in particular--are reluctant to go forth with impeachment proceedings? After all--THEY were the ones ultimately DUPED by the EXECUTIVE BRANCH on intelligence thus biasing them towards a YES VOTE back in 2003? Nancy's "Off the Table" remark? The WILL of the PEOPLE definitely supersedes a political pacification thats almost two years old and made in the turmoil of an election. However, I'm not one for piling on and a vindictive preoccupation with impeachment during an election year is anathema to the positive spirit being emoted by the Democratic Momentum being realized this year. Impeachment I think is Morally Right-but I also believe it is the wrong thing to do at this juncture. This will only alienate too many Republicans who, in our Heart of Hearts are our American brothers & sisters, and thus must render this motion be delayed or even dropped for the sake of Unity & Brotherly Love. Dennis does, without a doubt, need to recognized for his courage & loyalty to American principles of Righteous Law but now is just not the right time. We all need Unity & Strength of Purpose and as Obama needs to unite the Democrats the Democrats need to unite America. May God Almighty bless us in this endeavor.
Posted by: Basil Pelensky | June 10, 2008 1:16 AM
I'm a republican who successfully served for over 2 decades in military intelligence. I didn't vote for Bush when he ran for president.
I could have opted to stay in longer but I didn't support the illegal war America started and was happy with my decision to get out.
Holding a person accountable for their actions and behavior is the correct course of action at any time.
Wouldn't it be great if impeachment somehow contributes to getting our troops out of unnecessary harm’s way sooner!

I certainly have no love for Bush but so what if he gets impeached. Then we have President Cheney if not we have President Pelosi, if not we have President Rice.
Changing mafia bosses will do nothing for the American people.

I'll tell you something else that isn't in the news. Joe Biden telling Bush he will move to impeach him if he attacks Iran without the authority of Congress and John Conyers', Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, May 8 letter to the Whitehouse saying he will join Joe Biden's impeachment efforts if Bush attacks Iran without the authority of Congress. You would think that that would be "big" news but I've not seen or read anything from the mainstream media. The Whitehouse did not respond to Mr. Conyers letter. Why are they waiting until Bush starts another war to do anything?

Where was Kucinich two years ago when Feingold introduced legislation to censure Bush, which was the start of the impeachment process? McKinney also made a token effort to impeach both Bush and Cheney. Token, because it was her last day in office and she is now a Green Party member, running for president this year. Feingold mysteriously dropped his censure legislation and also dropped out of the contest as soon as he threw his hat in the ring.
I agree with those who say it will not take place, but I applaud the elected officials who are trying.
The odd thing is the citizens did not seem to mind impeached Bill Clinton running for First Man and his "buy one, get one free" return to his idyllic 1990s "co-presidency".

is right with this country and there is truly only man to blame. He has committed massive
“high crimes and misdemeanors” unlike Clinton. If only we could put on trial all his
personal friends in the oil business and war profiteers like Haliburton stealing obscene
wealth from the American people so they can build gold plated palaces in Dubai. End the
Bush “here’s to all my friends” party with our previously admired country. I bet there is
at least a billion waiting for him in his own palace in Dubai when he gets out. Don’t
doubt it!

Impeachment is essential especially at this point in time. Otherwise when the elite
NeoCons and their control of electronic voting machines and tabulations elect more of the
same McCain in November, it won’t come across as so obvious that something is going
on behind the scenes that needs investigating. Oh yes, your fragile link to the foundations
of our precious American democracy has also been corrupted.

I just couldn't believe my ears... It’s about damn time someone has the courage of King Lionidis to stand up for what’s right against all odds. Dennis you are a real American and real Americans will stand with you. As for the MSM in bed with this administration I hope that your time will come soon and you will answer to the American people.

35 COUNTS ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Cripes, I knew I was getting tired of listing all the abuses. This Administration has deeply insulted America and the United States Constitution. For all the blood shed, for all the misery caused, for the usurpation of our rights and liberties, for all the national treasure squandered and for the crimes against humanity and human dignity the Bush Administration must be forced to leave in shame and dishonor!

This should be a war crimes trial - not impeachment.
They should take all those that helped him - including our 'honourable' Tony B.liar - but I can not see the corrupt authorities going for it.

I'm an American in the UK. It's morning over here now - about midnight eastern time. And I am having to dig, dig, dig to find any coverage about this in any English language media. I would love to just get the transcript of the Congressional record. Where would I find that?

Bravo to Dennis Kucinich, a true and courageous American patriot. To allow the crimes of the Bush administration to pass without consequence impoverishes our democracy and degrades the integrity and power of our country. For the sake of our children, and all that is worthy, we must Impeach.
Posted by: Rita | June 10, 2008 5:36 AM
This criminal government has also allowed the taxation of every American through inflation and non-stop overspending, over taxation, wars, keeping 700 military bases open the world over, and when a cyclone happens in Myanmar, and an earthquake happens in Bande Ache, and the US bombs Iraq and Afghanistan, all the while our own US citizens rot in New Orleans.
This whole government is a horrible defunct piece of garbage, and only Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich deserve to remain after a complete vote of no confidence.
This impeachment is a worthy start.
I don't agree with DK's stance on gun-grabbing / anti-firearms stance, but this guy has stones.

Unfortunately the impeachment of Bush and Cheney will never happen - the USA only prosecutes and punishes perpetrators of crimes against humanity when they're not Americans.

I believe the President has illegally ordered wiretapping, and illegally detained U.S. Citizens and foreigners and subjected them to treatment that violates the law. He has asserted that the executive branch is a superior, rather than co-equal, branch of government. Impeachment should not be considered an act of revenge but rather the mechanism to ensure a President is subject to the law. No one in government (including lawmakers) should be considered exempt from obeying the law. He has exceeded his authority, it's time to give him a hearing and examine the evidence against him.
Posted by: Benjamin Baker | June 10, 2008 6:07 AM
Have we really set the bar so low that when a single member in congress actually attempts to do their job by holding the executive branch accountable, they become a hero and it is called historic? Don't get me wrong, I'm so thankful for Representative Kucinich and what he's doing in the face of such a powerful and counterproductive culture in the Legislature. But we all should be ashamed that there is still a vast majority of lawmakers, which we've elected and re-elected, that won't accept their responsibility. Democratic leadership and Pelosi have chosen to value electioneering over principle. Isn't this exactly what we are all so fed up with? This administration has committed a crime against this nation and against humanity. Make no mistake about it. If our "opposition" party is not able to come to the defense of our most basic rights; life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - why are they here? Why do we want them? These aren't some trumped up charges that have been leveled against Bush, it is of deliberate deception into crimes of aggression against a nation that posed no substantial threat. This has been confirmed already by bipartisan Senate reports, by insider testimonials and other uncovered information. It is a slam dunk. Only it's not, because we have a Capitol full of people playing a game of politics and ignoring an opportunity to finally make a stand. If we allow them to set the bar so low as to allow our highest official to lie to us in order to wage a war costing the lives of thousands upon thousands of people, why even have a bar at all? This Nation was founded on idealism and principle. It is a good tradition that we dare not forget. Let's not let our representatives ignore such black and white issues of morality in the interest of their own self-serving. If impeachment is not warranted for this administration, then it never will be. Let's make our voices heard.

And look at the sheep that have replied. Must be time to contribute to the DNC, so they break out the midget and mention the word impeachment.
Posted by: Terry | June 10, 2008 6:55 AM
Kucinich... SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP. There is no purpose for impeachment at this point. Why rile up the republican base? History will judge GW as the worst president of all time. That will be enought for me.
Posted by: David J | June 10, 2008 7:38 AM
This is not about Dennis Kucinich and whether he is a Republican or a Democrat.
This is about a man who has dared to stand up for the Constitution which has been shredded until now under the banner of 9/11.
Bush has been a pathological liar every time he states that "2,798 Americans lost their lives at the World Trade Center". The truth is that citizens from 64 different countries were killed; it is in the documentation. But Bush believes if you tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.
Bush has violated countless international laws with detainment, rendering to foreign countries, abrogated the Geneva convention and set about to spy on citizens of the United States. Remember when he stated that if you "aren't for us, then you are against us" and when that idiot AG John Nutcase stated that it was "unAmerican to oppose the Patriot Act" and then started singing?
I applaud Dennis Kucinich as the one man who has the audacity to say "the Emperor has no clothes!"
Power to the people of the legislative branch. The executive branch has been trying to do away with the relevance of Congrress during the entire Bush term by refusing to testify, refusing to provide documents and refusing to tell the truth. If you thought Nixon was bad, wait until the truth comes out about this imperial Presidency starting with Scott McLellan.
IMPEACH BUSH NOW!

I have been predicting record removal of incumbents this fall. If incumbents (like Pelosi) want to save their seats they should start listening to the electorate; they have already completely ignored the mandate with which they were elected: get us out of Iraq! My advice: get over the two-party paradigm and throw all the bums out! Let's keep Kucinich, though...
Posted by: Gordon Kahan | June 10, 2008 8:53 AM
Day late & a dollar short. Will this turn into what happened with Clinton? If so, what a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars. He'll be gone by the end of the year. Focus on getting a democrat into office if you're so disillusioned about what Bush has done. Your guy should be able to run circles around Bush...
Right?

First of all hundreds of thousands of iraqi citizens have not died as a result of our actions. The majority of civilians have died as a direct result of suicide bombings and attacks against the soldiers. I hate the fact that any one has died. But all the people who cry out in outrage about the civilians that are dying now. Where was your outrage when Saddam was killing and burying thousands of the iraqis? Where was the outrage when the mass graves were found? Where was the outrage when it was discovered that citizens were being raped and tortured by Saddam and his sons? Everyone over there either was personally violated or knew someone who was. More babies are killed everyday than soldiers that have died in the whole entire war. These babies are dismembered, decapitated, sucked apart. But because they are inside the womb, we say its okay. Where is your outrage? over 40 million babies have been brutally killed since Roe v Wade. Over 4000 babies are murdered every day. Where is your outrage? At least I'm consistent, I don't like death in any sense, not war, not the death penalty, not abortion and certainly not the terrorists attacks which took place on our own soil. When it first happened, we vowed not to forget. How soon we have forgotten.

Thank you Rep. Kucinich for standing up for the Amerian people! Someone remembers that government is there for the people, not the other way around. I think you should put Cheney back on your list, too.
Posted by: Becky Haynie | June 10, 2008 9:58 AM
Benjamin Baker has it right. It would have been nice to see Bush impeached sooner, but it's never too late to uphold the Constitution.
I doubt this will get anywhere in the current Congress, though.
Posted by: Tom O | June 10, 2008 10:39 AM
Kucinich's efforts to remove BushCo from office, much as I'd like to say otherwise, will ultimately prove fruitless in that there is no clear majority in the Senate -- who must vote to have anyone removed from office.
What COULD happen, and what I'd applaud Mr. Kucinich for, is that the Articles MIGHT -- MIGHT -- get passed by the House. I think it's important that Congress make particular note that the American people will not tolerate the kind of behavior and the kind of leadership we've had from the Bush administration over the past 7+ years. That "We the People" refuse to allow this to happen, ever again. And that's not just a standard that would or should be held against the Republicans -- it should apply to ANYONE who is elected to the Oval Office.
And even if ("when") the Articles get shot down in the Senate, remember that Bush et. al. are in NO WAY immune from criminal indictments and investigations once they're out of office.
Posted by: Op109 | June 10, 2008 11:01 AM
Sure, and let's impeach Congress too for their failure to declare war, as required by the U.S. Constitution. I get so tired of Kucinich and others in Congress calling for Bush's impeachment when if they had not shirked their duty we would not be in Iraq. Bush lied but Congress did not verify. For shame, Kucinich.

====================
There were 35 articles of impeachment. This is not just about the war in Iraq. I know its easy to forget. I find myself forgetting all of the scandals, all of the EVIDENCE, and all the WITNESS reports we have of contemptible wrongdoing and abuse of the Executive office there has been over the last 8 years. Due to the little media coverage and the constant stream of new scandals I know its easy to forget, but Dennis brought them all back and summarized all of the criminal charges against this organization.
Here are a few in case anyone's forgot:
1. Cherrypicking intelligence to invade Iraq
2. Illegal private wiretapping of citizens.
3. Geneva convention violations
4.Illegal detention
5. Illegal release of classified information.
6. Illegal use of signing statements (voiding laws and a clear breach of separation of powers)
7. DOD training and funding of Al Qaeda sunni groups to attack Iran.
8. Failure to act on intelligence warning of 9/11 attack
9. Obstruction of investigation into 9/11 culpability.
10. Creating secret laws without the knowledge of Congress and inventing forms of classification to keep non-Classified documents from reaching the public.
11. Interference with free elections.
And the list goes on and on and on. If you want evidence, and feel that your denial of this can withstand legitimate argument, I strongly recommend you find a transcript of the ENTIRE speech and read it complete with examples, witnesses, and evidence.
If upon reading it all you aren't convinced that this at least needs to be INVESTIGATED, then I don't know what to say.
I understand that we have an election coming up and this could be a potentially divisive issue, but on the other hand, what this administration has done is CRIMINAL! And I for one would like to see justice done after all this time.
Oh yeah, and Chicago Tribune, shame on you! You guys rolled over just like every other media group in the US when all this was happening. You need to start making up for this right NOW and make this headline news. Why can't you make news out of CRIMINAL charges against the president the same way you can right 50 Jeremiah Wright articles in a row? You should be ashamed of yourselves. The American people at least deserve to have another chance to hear all these charges together and know whats going on. I happened upon this on CSPAN because a friend called me. You, the media, failed America during the lead up to the war. Start acting with some integrity and make up for it now.

Thanks Dennis again for having the balls to stand up to this murderous and thieving Administration. I can only pray that the American people have the balls to pick up their phones and get behind this Impeachment effort by calling their Reps and Sens, both Dem and Rep and demanding that this time the trial WILL begin, 1-800-788-9372 to get to Congress. We the PEOPLE must push this to make it happen, so push it people, take back your country from the war criminals!

Moving to Russia is looking better and better every day. We need to wake up people. The facists have taken over our previously free country and destroyed every aspect of our once great democracy with nothing but immunity for themselves. What the f__k!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Tate Sayre | June 10, 2008 11:43 AM
It is about time that we not take crimes of this magnitude lightly. Although it is a bit late, this impeachment should take place to stand as a lesson about misleading the American public. Due to various esoteric laws and actions, our country is beginning to crumble. If Bush can get away with these crimes, then this would show how misguided the governments intents are to stand up for the rights of the people. "GO KUCINICH. "
Posted by: Anthony Catanese | June 10, 2008 12:05 PM
Since no one is summing up the contents of Dennis Kucinich's articles of impeachment, here they are:
1. Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture a false case for war against Iraq.
2. Falsely, systematically, and with criminal intent conflating the attacks of September 11, 2001 with misrepresentation of Iraq as a Security Threat As Part of Fraudulent Justification for a War of Aggression.
3. Misleading the American people and members of Congress to believe Iraq possessed weapons of Mass Destruction to manufacture a false case for war.
4. Misleading the American people and members of Congress to believe Iraq posed an imminent threat to the United States.
5. Illegally misspending funds to secretly begin a war of aggression.
6. Invading Iraq in violation of the Requirements of HJRes114.
7. Invading Iraq absent a declaration of War.
8. Invading Iraq, a sovereign nation, in violation of the UN charter.
9. Failing to provide troops with body armor and vehicle armor.
10. Falsifying accounts of US troop deaths and injuries for political purposes.
11. Establishment of permanent US military bases in Iraq.
12. Initiating a war against iraq for control of that nation's resourc
