With big votes coming up in Congress before the summer break, the Environmental Defense Action Fund isn't interested in giving anyone a break on the Climate Security Act.
"Some in Big Oil and coal would do anything to drive this bill into the ground,'' says the star of this ad running in the district of Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.), chairman of the House Democratic Caucus and a proponent of action to avert global warming.
The ad is worth the watch.

We don't need more drillings. There's plenty of oil. The speculator has been pushing the oil prices.
In matter of fact, the hedge funds keep pushing the price of oil. Why is gas $2.00 in China and $4.0 here? It's the same stuff, different politics.
Besides, we have plenty of oil shale and coal. . .

Ram Rod Emmanuel has been manipulated by the Sierra club and other environmental wackos. With oil at $130 plus a barrel he and Dickie Durbin have no interest in Americas oil and gas industries.
It will be a cold day in hell before hydrogen or uranium can replace fossil fuels but nevermind the two geniuses Emmanuel and Durbin will not drill or refine. Naw they are going to sue OPEC, a trial lawyers dream not an answer to energy independence.
They have learned conservation from Jimma Carter. It didn't work in the 70's and it won't work now.
Clinton vetoed a bill to drill in Anwar in 1994. If he had signed it we would be paying less for gas now. We need to drill in the Gulf, North Dakota and other places where we know there is hordes of oil. There is no shortage of oil we have an over supply of green wackos. Jerry White, Springfield, IL P.S. We need new refineries Jackasses Now!

Lou- The chinese gov't subsidizes consumer gas prices.. thats why they pay less than us.
And when you say we have plenty of oil- how do you rationalize that with your we don't need to drill statement?

Let's see, what do we actually need all that Oil for: Gas and electric lawnmowers, skimobiles, water-jets, air -conditioned sports stadiums, 2-3 car families, SUVs , snowblowers, leave blowers, electric toothbrushes, HUMMERS, down-sized passenger railroad service in favor of airplane travel, manufacturing ethanol, just to name a few of our justifications for destroying our health, our environment and our great Earth!! I will not even get into the Oil Corporations and their incredible luck, with those magnificent profit margins !!!

Why aren't the media reporting about the Democrats suggesting that the oil industry be socialized? Maxine Waters, D-Watts, CA, used the S-word yesterday in quizzing oil execs, then asked how they would like to have the government take over the oil industry. Shades of the Soviet Union. Maxine should immediately be on Obama's short list for veep. Then we could have a complete Socialist ticket...or is that spelled "Communist?"

Don- you forgot about all of those industries, businesses, and self employed people that are dependent on oil..
Oil is what is used to produce tires, plactics, and many other consumer products that I am sure even you are dependent on..
and can you tell me-what you mean by "those magnificent profit margins" when oil co's margins are not much different than most large complanies margins?

Here I thought a great many of those industries and business have went overseas !! What was the job loss during President Bush's tenure in the Oval Office?!! There is a 8-10,000,000 job loss figure out there, so maybe they can save some money there. What about playing baseball where it was meant to be played, outdoors and in the daytime. How about brushing you teeth with some elbow grease, or manual lawnmowers? Just to name one or two, okay, three !!
