DES MOINES -- After some technical problems with the video overnight, a fresh link is provided here for a must-watch Internet video for any Iowa political junkie.

It perfectly captures the sentiment of many Iowans who have been constantly bombarded with campaign ads, phone calls and media coverage for nearly a year now in advance of the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses.

The guy on the left is Kyle Munson (the music critic at The Des Moines Register and a very hip cat), while the guy with the guitar is Jason Walsmith of The Nadas.

That should be the headline for this story too:

Vermont Town Seeks Bush, Cheney Arrests
By DAVE GRAM

MONTPELIER, Vt.

President Bush may soon have a new reason to avoid left-leaning Vermont: In one town, activists want him subject to arrest for war crimes.

A group in Brattleboro is petitioning to put an item on a town meeting agenda in March that would make Bush and Vice President Cheney subject to arrest and indictment if they visit the southeastern Vermont community.

"This petition is as radical as the Declaration of Independence, and it draws on that tradition in claiming a universal jurisdiction when governments fail to do what they're supposed to do," said Kurt Daims, 54, a retired machinist leading the drive.

I agree. This 'election 2007' (ha ha) on 'roids has really sucked. These politicos don't seem to understand; we actual people can only take so much before we throw up. None of the candies are really 'people', or 'folks'; They are ambition machines.

(Re; 'election 2007'; It's for real. Nothing can happen in 07 because it's an election year, even though it's not an election year.
America, we are totally screwed. This is 'freedom'?)

'Get outta our town'

Don't worry guys, Barack's not moving in...the value of your corn will stay the same.

Paulo

Fine, cool. Just move the caucuses back a month or so and Iowa can live in relative primary oblivion like every single one of its neighbors.

BTW, it's only been the last few cycles that Iowa Cock was even considered important. It used to be all New Hampshire all the time.

Iowa was, rightly, considered unimportant. Ignored, as a matter of fact. Ah, for the old days.

Better yet, National Primary Day.

I'm from New Hampshire.
If the people in Iowa don't appreciate the privilege they have, they should give it up.

This is what democracy (and therefore America) is all about... free and (hopefully) fair elections.

You're kidding...right Paulo? Your "there goes the neighborhood" reference stinks of pure skinhead quality. That moral highroad just gets harder and harder to navigate...doesn't it?

Who invited whom. There are 49 other states that would love for you to give up your first in the nation status. So STFU and spend all the extra dollars presidential politics bring to your state every four years!!

If you don't like it why did you move your caucuses up to ensure you're first?

Michigan and Florida are being penalized for just trying to be a little bit more relevant. Maybe the Democrat and Republican Parties should heed your request to be left alone and allow on or both these states to go first from now on.

Don't worry guys, Barack's not moving in...the value of your corn will stay the same.

The price of corn is skyrocketing, no thanks to president chainsaw and bu$hco, who still believe oil is America's salvation, so I think Iowans needn't worry. On the other hand, pillow's weird, off hand, nonsensical comments continue to puzzle the Einstein's of the world. But what does one expect from greedy truthiness-telling sociopathic bed wetting deficit-expanding 9/11-Tourette's suffering self-deluding religion-perverting Repugnicans.

In an actual 'democracy' there would
be no 'first state' status.

But it will never change without a constitutional amendment, which will not happen.

The powers that would array themselves against a reform of that nature would shock and awe us all.
