Madness

Get ready for the biggest voting day of the election season!

Hi everyone,
I'll be away from my drawing board until January 2nd. Time to recharge the creative batteries and spend some sweet quality time with my amazing wife and children.
Next year will be dominated by the presidential campaigns...I can't wait!
Along with my regular daily editorial cartoons, I will be creating 12 more animations in 2008 starting with a new one in mid January after Iowa and New Hampshire.
For now, I'd like to close out 2007 by thanking all of you for visiting my blog. Since it started in the middle of November, over 9 million people have stopped in for a look and to leave some thought-provoking and often hillarious comments. Thank you so much!!!
For the next 10 days I'll be posting some of my favorites from 2007.
Enjoy and Best Wishes to all-----Walt

Here's a 'toon from earlier this year that I just colored for a year-end project. I love working in color but don't get the opportunity very often on the Ed Page.
Enjoy---Walt

Here's another idea I had on the mud-slinging politicians running around Iowa. I generally show 2 or 3 rough sketches to my editor on each topic. This one was close but didn't make the cut.
Enjoy---Walt

Fellow cartoonist and good friend, Jimmy Margulies, a favorite of Newsday's editorial pages, recently sent me this copy of one of my cartoons that appeared in the Japanese edition of Newsweek a while ago. It had something to do with Bush telling Condi to piece Iraq back together. It's always fun to see one of my cartoons reprinted in a foreign language.
Enjoy...Walt

Here is one of my favorite toons from last year's Thanksgiving travel season.
Reposted as a holiday treat.
Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!
