Do your research, people. Obama's father, who divorced his mom when he was just 2, was a Muslim. His mother, who raised him with the help of his maternal grandparents, was NOT. He had a mostly secular background until he joined the United Church of Christ--not exactly Muslim, now is it?--back in the 1980s. While the schools he attended in Indonesia had Muslim students, they also had Christians and Buddhists. None of his schooling was done in a Muslim madras (sp?) His stepfather was nominally Muslim, but didn't have much of an influence on his religious education, except maybe teaching him not to be the kind of bigot who automatically associates all members of a faith with its nutjob extremists.

How does a half White and half Black individual growing up in Hawaii with his White family determine that he is Black?

Could you image the cultual tug of war he had to be struggling with on a day to day basis.

Look at his fantastic relationship he has with his White younger sister. She proudly lead her state to a massive vistory for her big brother.

Obviously, Obama's White family prepared him with an abundance of Love that would allow him to respect, regard, and to PROPERLY deal with differences; something clearly many families represented on this board just did not do.

Let's take a closer look at who's really qualified and or who's really working for the good of all of us in the Senate. Obama or Clinton.

Records of these two candidates should be scrutinized in order to make an informed decision.

Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law - 20 - twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.

During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills.

He introduced 233 regarding healthcare reform, 125 on poverty and public assistance, 112 crime fighting bills, 97 economic bills, 60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills, 21 ethics reform bills, 15 gun control, 6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded

**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law,

**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law,

**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law,

**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.

In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.

An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made public.

I am not sure I would call Obama's church catholic. It is a radical church. It's mission statement reads very much political. There has been video of the pastor of this church, and I would call his preaching radical and somewhat extreme. (He called the jewish faith a "gutter religion")

Bill Clinton was a do-nothing president, all of his accomplishments were actual done by Hilliary, although there is one exception - teen pregnancies dropped 20% during the clinton years - this of a result of his efforts to guide young women to the joys of oral sex. Bill was not the "first black president" - all the women he had sex with were white! I think Hilliary's running mate should be a woman - Monica Lewinski!

We all know that the Hillary Clinton political campaign is closely scripted and the daily press releases reflect the Clinton dodge ball concept of political strategy and their innate ability to get away with their tactics they believe to be if not high impact at least necessary.

The Clintons' battle is of course personalized to attack Barrack Oboma from every conceivable direction and somehow they know that Oboma cannot respond to all of their escalating attack points and therefore he will slowly but surely seem to be inadequate to the task of being the Democrats Presidential Candidate and succumb to their terror tactics.

The Clinton machine has many assets including Bill. Those who say Clinton was the best president this country have, do you remember:

1. Clinton got into the White House with an economy already coming out of a recession (thanks to policies taken by the prior Bush Administration) (Comment: I'm not Republican but an Independent).

2. The Cold War had ended, freeing up billions of dollars to balance the budget (Clinton had nothing to do with helping end the Cold War). There was a Republican Congress when the bill pass the balanced budget bill) and a great opporunithy to substantially reduce military spending.

3. The Internet Revolution helped the economy tremendously (neither Al Gore (although he tried to claim to) nor Bill nor Hillary invented the Internet.

4. Anyone happens to remember the stock market collapse of 2000? Do you remember how many people lost all the retirement savings? How did that happen and under who's watch (yes, Greenspan, but the administration could not have prevented it?

5. No one remembers the scandals from Day 1 in the Clinton's White House? WH Travel Offfice, Health Care Reform, suicide of Foster, Whitewater, Lewinsky, presidential pardons, etc.? Sure, everything was a right wing conspiracy!!

6. Does it not make a difference that a President has sex in the Oval Office, and is it okay now to compare it to the sexual indiscreation of JFK? Wouldn't you be fire if you had sex at work?

7. Finally, Bill Clinton (as well as GWB) had no experience in running a country. They were just Governors, ill equipped to deal with national security issues. How is now Obama's experience then considered insufficient?

8. Where does Hillary get 35 years of experience in running a country, national security and the like? She's 60 y.o. If my math is correct, 35 year ago, she was just 25 and not even the Arkansas first lady yet!

One final question to those who cheer for Bill Clinton and are voting for Hillary, are you expecting Hillary or Bill to govern? Or are you electing two to run the WH and the country?

The economy was good in the '90s. We had a Republican controlled Congress and a Clinton Justice Department that ignored all the corporations cooking the books (or maybe you forgot Enron, WorldCom, Adelphia and Tyco).

And Old Great President Bill adopted a foreign policy of saber-rattling with a dictator named Saddam who claimed to have WMD. Bill the Great thought he did and bombed Iraq (and Bosnia and a few other places.)

And then he had his affair with Monica during which he made the great decision to lie to Congress - never a winning strategy. To be fair he was distracted since Paula Jones was fighting Hillary and Bill's machine to sue Bill the Great for sexual assault. Bill settled,

And then under Bill we had Janet Reno leading ATF to wipe out David Koresh and the Branch Davidians at Waco. I know it was only 50 whackos but you might recall a home grown terrorists named McVeigh who cited that incident as inciting his own attack two years to the day after the killings in Waco (April 19th was not a good day under Bill the Great.)

And then Janet choreographed the embarassing Elian Gonzalez fiasco as the Bill regime was winding down. Who can forget the Easter Sunday 2000 raid to 'rescue' Elian? Except many of us were already experiencing the beginnings of the market melt down when Nasdaq lost 75% of its value in 2000.

And then in October 2000 a US Naval Ship - the USS Cole - was attacked killing 17 sailors. See the New Yorker for the articles on how Bill's SOS Madeiline Albright blocked an investigation in Yemen because with Bill almost out of office they didn't want to get into it with Al Qaeda. Hey, but Bill the Great already had a track record of letting Usama bin Laden off the hook.

The Clintons, like most politicians, are self-serving power mongers who are well versed in doublespeak. I would agree that Bill Clinton was the best president ever, but only if you compare him to George W. Bush and you were born after 1992. Hillary Clinton, like Bill and George, will be a good lap dog president and she'll deliver to her corporate handlers those things they have bought and paid for. Of course, Obama and McCain would both fill this role honorably as well. Why do people in this country think that any candidate for president cares about us or our well being? Simply because he or she tells us so?

Bill Clinton and George W. Bush facilitated the greatest transfer of wealth from the middle and lower classes to the upper class in the history of this country. Bill had the dot.com bubble and George the housing bubble. The middle class has realized no gains in its standard of living nor has purchasing power increased since before the Reagan administration. The current economic situation is being compared to the run-up to the Great Depression. Bush, the prevaricator-in-chief, thinks things are a "little rough" right now in the economy but how would he know. He has drug out his old mantra - just go shopping. We'll spend our way out of this!! That's a real confidence booster, ain't it? None of the current candidates for president will change this. They are part of the "haves" and they don't intend on giving any of it back to the have nots. Don't be fooled by campaign rhetoric.

Remember, as the middle class goes in this country, so goes our democracy. No middle class, no democracy. The erosion of our civil liberties only makes it easier to establish martial law when the time comes for the haves to protect their spoils from the rest of us.

Bill Clinton's troubles in the White House showed only too well what was important to Bill. Bill was important to Bill. Not you or anybody else, just Bill. Hillary will be no different, because this family is about getting power and keeping power at all costs, just like the Bush family. The best thing about the Lewinski scandal is that it stopped Bill from privatizing social security. It was on the agenda, right after Welfare reform, NAFTA, the emasculation of regulatory oversight, and the rest of the agenda he stole from the Republicans. And look at how well Hillary handled the only thing she was actually in charge of during Bill's reign, reforming our dysfunctional health care system. I agree that Bill should have gone to jail, but for war crimes not marital infidelity. Think Serbia and the Iraqi no-fly zone. He lied all right, but Bush has made a career of it. All presidents lie, but when people die and corporate America profits obscenely from it as a result, we should be outraged plain and simple. When they act in our name, they make us culpable as well.

Until we take the country back from the corporations and political decisions are no longer made in the boardroom, nothing will change in this country. Whoever is president will do the bidding of the corporate war machine (with the acquiescence of Congress) and bomb some unsuspecting third-world country whose resources we will secure for them (and us) in the name of democracy and freedom.

Bill may have had extramarital sex, but at least he didn't pay for it, which seems to be the way of many politicians ( I guess he didn't need to pay, what with hjis good looks.). Also, Clinton never preached values and morals to us, so at least he's no hypocrite.

For those who can't let Bill Clinton's private sex life go... yes, he did cheat on his wife, and that is wrong. He also lied about it... also wrong. Although, oh gee, how unusual is that!...men lying about extramarital affairs...stop the presses, send the man to prison for life!! The truth is that Clinton lied about something that was none of our business in the first place. And unlike other lies we've heard in recent years, of no consequences to us or the country.

Personally, I am grateful that Clinton, adulterous as it was, was into the normal kind of sex. Unlike the kinky stuff so many of these conservative, religious types are into. Like Larry Craig's sad restroom cruising. Or Senator Vitter's weakness for prostitutes in diapers -- how gross is that?

So why is it always the moral values, holier-than-thou types that are always into the weird stuff?
