Well, I must say that I liked the cartoon, but something strikes me as being sad. After reading the commentaries, I have to ask the question. Can anyone in this country spell? I read a lot of blogs and it just seems as if this country spells on a fourth grade level. I realize that the United States has fallen drastically in math and science and it would seem that English and language are right behind that sad statistic. Come on people, Hooked On Phonics is not the way to go.

We have several problems facing our country today. As we all know, but some are still not ready to face reality, our chosen leaders both Republican and Democrat are not worth the paper this email will be printed on. We need good strong leadership if America is to survive as a sovereign nation. The leaders and planners of this war don't have the any idea about fighting a war. Our leaders should have seeked advice from WWll Military minds. These men knew how to fight a war.
Afghanastan was right, but Iraq was a NO NO. Saddam was an evil man, but he was not a danger to the US. He did not support terrorists and there were no terrorists in Iraq until after we invaded his country. Several days after my son was killed fighting Bushes war in Iraq, America learned that there were no WMD. Bush lied. Now, he wants to go to war in Iran. The same day that it was reported that Iran was not involved in making nukes, Bush tries to twist the reports to cover his butt.
If we took our troops out of Iraq, and stationed these brave men and women on the borders of the US, we would not have to worry about terrorists invading our country. Look at all the jobs Dubbua outsorced and look at the stratigic seaports that he wanted to sell to foreing countries. Look at all the trillions of dollars our great great great grandchildren will be paying off for this stupid war for OIL. But, the real cost of this war is the American lives that were wasted and the the everlast tradgey that so many families will suffer. Look at the number of seriously injured GI's that returned from the war zone. Add it up. this country has paid a heavy price for the actions of so few in command.

I don't agree with this oil war any more than the next guy, but I do have to say, as a military intelligence soldier in Iraq, I saw documentation from a thriving WMD program. They had both biological and chemical programs. The nuclear program was on hold till a more favorable international climate presented itself. All the parts were hidden with loyal Ba'athist subjects. I have friends who have firsthand information that the chemical weapons were moved to a neighboring country before the regime fell. I was a bit confused when Bush came out and pretty much said there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, since I had personally sent up reports to the contrary. He was lying through his teeth. Par for the course, really.

Well D., and Sassy Sue, and Boomerman - if you consider that probably well over 90% of most Americans' information comes from television, people's opinions don't mean a lot individually. Facts, however, are indisputable. So, like a character in National Treasure said: " Follow the money!" The money, in Iraq, lies in three oilfields that 'Texas Oil' had divided up three years before any talk of invasion. (And this calling it a war is flat-out propaganda - it was an invasion by the US, with a paltry few so-called "Allies', countries that could be strong-armed or bribed, (in the case of Britain,) Don't you think it's strange that, in the midst of all the bombings and killing going on, that we have not heard ONE WORD about the Iraqi oilfields? Not even ONE word? Not even ONE little bomb going off?

Do you suppose it has anything to do with about 1/2 million US troops so busy guarding Texas Oil's oil fields they don't have any left to protect some of the world's most priceless archeological treasures, let alone protect their, (and their afor-mentioned lap-dog 'allies') lives, apply any meaningful pressure on the people who have been driven into extremism as a direct result of US foreign policy. (Just suppose for a minute, what you would be doing right now if Iraq had taken over the US government, and replaced it with people who had been exiled from the US for whatever reasons. Would you be studying explosives? I sure would be!)

So where do you think Cheney came from, and is going back to, after this VP/puppet-master gig? Right, back to "Texas Oil". W doesn't matter, he does what he's told.

But more to the point, why haven't we heard one word about who are the only two or three people in the country who have the authority to shut down a thirty-year-old standing policy of ALWAYS having interceptors in the air within 8 minutes of ANY aircraft off course, hijacking or not. (I also spent 25 years in the Air Force and airlines, I'm interested in having that one question answered!)
Look at some of the information available about that situation.

And then look up the videos that clearly show the WTC being blown up with carefully controlled explosives. Compare those videos with ANY video of a building being explosively destroyed in any other city; notice the identical little tell-tale puffs of smoke from explosives in both videos.

Investigate the physics and chemistry of uncontained petroleum fires, and their max temp of about 550-600C, and listen to the structural engineers who will tell you that in order to burn through the steel-reinforced feet of concrete forming the backbone structure of the building requires a minimum of 1600C. Then talk to your structural engineer friend again who will assure you that it is not physically possible for a building to collapse like that from any petroleum fire. (I was also a college instructor, but you don't need much education to follow the facts, or "Follow the Money.")

Why was the entire might of the greatest military ever known deliberately leashed for only one day, and not allowed to do their job of protecting us from 9-11?

What we need is a bumper sticker that says: "SUPPORT THE TROOPS, NOT THE INTERNATIONAL TERRORIST ASSHOLES WHO SENT THEM THERE!"
