I feel bad for the woman and the children. I do think however that the neighbors should have asked the mother if there was anything they could do to help her. They knew she had 4 children, single parent, and had to be in need of help. It wouldn't have gotten as bad as it was if there was someone to help her. If they really cared thats what they should have done first. She had to be totally overwhelmed. My heart goes out to her. As for her neighbors, my comment wouldn't be favorable so I won't write it. She doesn't deserve to be arrested, she needed help. As for the absent fathers, 2 men where were they?? They could have helped also.
The article states "concerned neighbor" LOL thats funny! If she was so concerned why didn't she help the woman. I wish the mother good luck she had it hard.
My heart goes out to this mom. It is very possible that she is suffering from depression and may need medical help for herself. Sometimes the stresses of everyday life with four children alone can be enough for anyone. She has a job and is working. The neighbor should have asked if she could help her! The money spent on arresting her, court, etc.. could have been used to help the family.
No beds for the kids, no cable, no phone.....the woman had no money!! She was raising 4 children, working obviously full time as she was an asst manager. She was trying. She had a full plate and what did her neighbors do....call the cops. Not ask her if they could do anything to help her, those neighbors had husbands who worked, who provided for them. This woman did it all on her own. They should have tried putting themselves in her shoes. They would have seen a different side of it. Perhaps compassion which obviously they don't have. Someone should have tried to reach out to her. As I watched the video I felt for the mother, the neighbor I thought was terrible. The little girl reached out, not to have her family destroyed but to get help. The neighbor could have reached out to the mother, offered help. Tried to put her in contact with agencies to help or look into them herself and give the mother the info. Offer to help, not turn her in. The mother was trying she wasn't sitting home being nosy going into her neighbors house she was working, full time raising 4 children on her own. The neighbor could have used her time constructively, making phone calls to agencies to find help rather than turning her in. Tell the mom she was getting a new bed for her daughter and offer her a bed, picking one up at goodwill and offering it to her. Thats caring, thats compassion, thats helping. I wish good luck to the mother and I hope where ever she lives next she has good neighbors not like the ones she had.
Blah, blah, blah! Of course the 'soccer moms' out there will side with this criminal, she's a woman, just like them. Only in America do women get away with crimes against children, up to and including abortion. A) If she's judged mentally incompetant, she goes in a hospital, and here kids should be adopted, not shuttled to foster homes. B) If she's 'sane', whatever that means today, she goes to jail, and her kids are adopted, not shuttled to foster homes. Either way, the kids will be protected. Stop worshipping at the alter of pure femininity, and look at the facts. Of course we should judge her, that what laws are for, grow up!
