What the neighbors are up to

Huntington’s Zoning Board of Appeals meets Thursday evening at 6 to consider these applications:

East Northport: Heath Ryan and Winter Brook Ryan, on behalf of the estate of Valentine Ryan are seeking a front-yard variance to maintain a front porch conversion on a structure on Bellerose Avenue east of Monmouth Court and maintain a detached garage too close to the rear yard.

East Northport: Anne Marie Phelan and George W. Huxtable seek front-yard relief in order to legalize a two-story addition for first floor living room, den breakfast/kitchen extention and second floor bed and bath and expansion of two other bedrooms on Bellecrest Avenue west of Terrace Drive. Also to legalize in-ground pool, shed and demolition of barn.

East Northport: The Seasons of East Northport/Engel Senior Housing is seeking to build a three-story (35 feet in height), 133,650 square-foot assisted living facility, subject to a re-zoning of the property) on the northwest corner Larkfield Road and Doyle Court. Relief required for front yard, long street side yard and number of stories.

Greenlawn: Matthew and Nancy Forrago seek a front and long-street side-yard variances in order to erect a wrap-around porch on a house at the southeast corner of Bowdon Road and Colgate Road

Huntington: CVS Caremark is asking to exceed maximum sign allowance on New York Avenue.

Huntington Station: Joyce Giordano is requesting a front-yard variance on East 12th Street west of Depot Road to legalize conversion of existing front porch to living space and an addition to a detached garage built after 1934.

Melville: Ruland Realty Assoc. LLC is seeking to erect a second main structure on lot on Ruland Road east of Republic Road (10,000 square-foot retail structure and 2,000 square-foot drive-through) requiring relief of having more than 1 main structure on lot and relief for drive-through for food shop.

Northport: Joseph Sanacore seeks a side yard variance on Makamah Beach Road to demolish existing garage, erect a new one car garage, erect one story addition, covered entry, second story addition and to convert existing covered patio to living space.
