Whitman class of 1958 plans reunion

By Barbara Jones (Nickel)

I am writing to introduce you to the Graduating Class of 1958 from Walt Whitman High School.

We will be having our 50th H.S. reunion celebration on July 19, 2008 at the Thatched Cottage in Centerport.

This is a very special event not only because of the half century mark, and we can gather and reminisce about old times, but quite a few of us still live here in Huntington or near by.

We gather together for different occasions during the year and some of us are friends from Kindergarten and early grade school, right through to high school.

Our children have grown up together and now our grandchildren are growing up together. I think this is very unique in such a changed world as ours is today. We were very fortunate to have grown up in an era where family and traditional values were the guts of the American family.

Barbara Jones (Nickel) is a member of the class of 1958
