Violations issued against Home Depot and K-Mart

Have you been to the Home Depot and K-Mart in Huntington Station recently? If so you'll have noticed the absence of all the spring plants that are usually displayed on the sidewalks at the front of the stores.

Seems some local residents objected to the public sidewalk areas being used for the sale of plants. Hence, the Town of Huntington has issued violation summons and have ordered their removal. As of today all plants are to be displayed within the stores...or at least until Home Depot gets their day in court to argue the matter.

If you do see the sidewalk plant displays again...you'll know who won.

This is not as big a deal as the conditions in the village lately with the groups of roaming LOITERING teens, skateboarders, trouble-makers. It is an environment that makes me now hate the village. The skateboarders in streets, sidewalks and parking lots (Burger King, banks) need to be dealt with!

And while that is going downhill, the Station area is improving!

(BTW, it is "gets", no apostrophe)

Gee ! It's alright to have ILLEGAL ALIENS all over Suffolk sidewalks but not plants ! Keep supporting a hiring site DUMMYS !!!!

I was wondering what happened to all those beautiful flowers and plants! I loved walking over to the shopping center on my lunch hour and seeing all the beauty they brought to our outdoors during these short summer months. How ridiculous to complain about such a thing! It did not interfere with waking on the side walks and I looked forward to seeing so many different flowers brightening up the store fronts,
I for one would love to see them back, colorful and plentiful bringing smiles to many faces.
