Maplewood pupils honor parents

In honor of both Father’s Day and Mother’s Day, Ms. Colagiovanni and Ms. Rubino’s third-grade classes recently celebrated their parents in style. They threw a “Celebrate Our Parents: A Mother and Father's Day Brunch” to honor their parents for all that they do.

The students crowned their parents kings and queens for the day (with real crowns that they
had created), served them tasty snacks and drinks, sang songs to them, and gave them personalized hard-covered books that they had written and illustrated. On one side of the book was everything special about mom. Flip the book over and you’d find everything that was special about dad. The brunch became a celebrity affair when News 12 TV personality Danielle Campbell showed up to record a special segment.

Both students and parents had a blast at the brunch, and they made memories that they will no doubt treasure for years to come.
