The eighth annual Huntington Tulip Festival takes at Heckscher Park, Route 25A and Prime Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, with kids’ activities including face painting, storytelling and hands-on crafts; and the season’s first performers — including a family-friendly comedian and music from Africa, South America, Israel and Japan — on the Chapin Rainbow Stage.
March in the children’s parade at 2:30 and visit the newly revamped Heckscher Museum of Art, where docents will be leading tours. A shuttle will be available to visit the nearby Sheep-to-Shawl Festival at 434 Park Ave., where you’ll find music, a petting zoo, crafts and sheep shearing. Free. 631-351-3099, or click on “Calendar of Events” at town.huntington.ny.us.
