Police: Father, son break into E. Northport church gym

Dix Hills

  • A satellite radio was stolen yesterday from a car parked on Old Country Road.

    East Northport

  • A police report was made Saturday that a 52-year-old man and his 12-year-old son pried open the door of a church on Vernon Valley Road to play basketball in the recreation area and were discovered by a member of the congregation. The door lock was damaged but the police report said no charges were going to be pressed.

  • A resident on Cedar Road told police Saturday that a rock was thrown through her window.

  • A woman on Burwood Court said her pocketbook with credit cards in it was stolen Saturday.

  • Vandals broke a window at the East Northport Middle School on 5th Avenue Saturday.

  • A burglary was discovered yesterday at the North Shore Animal Center on Vernon Valley Road. The police report said $75 was taken from a metal cash box.

    Huntington

  • A car was broken into Saturday in the owner’s driveway on South 5th Avenue. The front passenger-side window was broken and a wallet with credit cards was stolen.

  • A teenage couple was caught stealing $167 worth of Enfamil (a prepared baby formula) from the Waldbaum’s store on Wall Street Saturday.

    Huntington Station

  • A car window was broken today on Craven Street and the navigation system was stolen.

  • A emblem that the dealer said was valued at $10,000 was stolen from the front of a car at the Mercedes Benz dealer on East Jericho Turnpike today.

  • The owner of a 1998 Ford Contour said it was stolen today on West 18th Street.

    Melville

  • A back window was reported broken Saturday on a car in the owner’s driveway on Hanley Avenue and a purse with credit cards in it was stolen.

  • The driver-side window was broken Saturday on a car on Wallingford Drive and a DVD player, iPod and navigation system were stolen.

  • The radio and speakers and a wallet were stolen from a car on Overhill Road Saturday. The police report said the driver-side window was broken to gain entry.

    South Huntington

  • An iPod and speaker box were stolen from a car Friday on Magerus Street.

  • A window was broken and a digital camera and the navigation system were stolen Saturday from a car on Liberty Street.

  • The tires were slashed and a windshield was broken Saturday on a car on Greenhills Road.
