Newsday exclusive: D'Amato helps raise $$ for Paterson
Former Republican U.S. Sen. Alfonse D'Amato is apparently playing a major role in organizing a fundraiser for Democratic Gov. David Paterson — to be co-hosted by a bi-partisan myriad of Long Island developers, lawyers, doctors and top executives, at the Coyote Grill in Island Park.
While D'Amato's name doesn’t appear on the invitation to the $1,000-per-plate fundraiser, set for Nov. 2, guests are told to respond to D'Amato's executive assistant, Dana Weisberg, in care of D'Amato's consulting firm, Park Strategies. Neither D’Amato nor Weisberg returned calls for comment.
Of 15 names on the invitation, seven are registered Republicans, two are Democrats, three are blanks and three could not be determined.
The invitation lists: former Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta; Gary Melius, owner of the Oheka Castle Hotel in Huntington; Scott Rechler, who’s partnering with Charles Wang on the Nassau Coliseum-Lighthouse project and has been listed as a finance co-chairman for Sen. John McCain’s campaign; two Park Strategies’ executives, and Robert Catell, executive director at National Grid.

Yes, good old Al "the fix" D'Amato aka NY1 Wiseguy and leading anti-Italian is raising money for Gov Paterson.
Now you may wonder why i say he is Anti-Italian well I will tell you.
You see he allows himself to be called a NY1 Wiseguy. The term "WISEGUY" is Anti-Italian. It is like calling a jewish person a ......or a black person a,,,,,,,or a hispanic person a .........
How many people don't see it that way, they are in love with the "WISEGUY" Image of killers like the Sopranos. The Sopranos KILL PEOPLE and the media makes a bundle off the show.
It is time NY1 and their bosses realize it. It is also time Italians start boycotting NY1. It is time for action. It is a time for Al "the fix' D'Amato to be "STONED" by the Italian American community.
He should not be invited to any Italian American events or march in any Columbus Day parade and if he does march he should be boooooooooooooooooooooed

DAmato is a disgrace and I am ashamed that I ever supported him. He is a perfect example of why the GOP lost its congressional majorities. He has no real ideology, preferring instead to worship the almighty dollar. Republicans should never trust this guy and should never let him in the door again.
