Alden, Trotto will not make Islip district court ballot

The Appellate Division in Brooklyn today affirmed a Supreme Court ruling to toss Legis. Cameron Alden (R-Islip) and Judge Hertha Trotto from the GOP ballot for Islip district court judge.

The two will not seek to appeal the case to the state Court of Appeals, said Alden, who will leave the legislature after 2009 because of term limits.

The Supreme Court found last week that 44 of the 2,020 signatures submitted by the Islip GOP were not valid, leaving Alden and Trotto, an 17-year incumbent from Holbrook, 24 short of the 2,000 valid signatures needed to qualify.

Alden, who cannot seek re-election to the Legislature because of term limits, said he will appeal the decision to the state Appellate Division next week.

Jennifer Henry, who has the Democratic, Conservative and Independence party lines, will now also be the GOP nominee.

The only thing worse than a broken reciord is a bad broken record, when will Trunzo & Messina finally get it?
'
Everybody saw this coming months ago. The ultimate failure of leadership by Trunzo & Messina. Two respectable incumbents not even getting on the ballot. After two lost primaries, losing town hall and now this all in 3 years. And some may not be aware of all the countless shennigans that they have pulled, but just recently, Trunzo steps up for recognition at Spota's fundraiser with Jennifer Henry (The winning GOP Candidate for Alden/Trotta's nomination who is cross endorsed by all the major parties), Frank McKay (Independence Party Chair), Wil Ford (The Democratic beneficiary of Trotta/Alden decision) and Rich Schaffer (Democratic Chair) smiling away as if he hasn't a care in the world. How long must the Islip GOP suffer under these fools. IT IS MORE THAN TIME FOR TRUNZO & MESSINA TO GO!!!!

Not to mention all the other losses in recent years. It is time for Trunzo & company to go.

I feel sorry for Trotto. She's a decent person and a good judge. Unfortunately, she put her trust in her friend, Messina.

Resign as leader.
Stay as Senator.

There is a GOD. These players, Trunzo, Messina and Cochrane, screwed the Conservative party that kept the GOP in Islip proped up for a generation. Alden is nothing but a patsy for Pete McGowan and Trotto sneaked around to run a primary on the Conservative line. They are reaping the rewards of their mendacious behavior. Pigs get slaughtered.

Fleicity, you are right about Alden. But, don't forget Trunzo and Messina as they also were afraid to stand up to McGowan. McGowan killed the Islip GOP and they stood by and let it happen. That's why there is no organization left and why it barely got the minimum number of signatures, which turned out to be not enough. Bring back Tony Pace!!! Goodbye, Caesar.

and who do you think made Tony Pace look good ?

Don't know,Felicity, enlighten me as to who made Tony Pace look good.

Was it you??

I don;t know who made Pace look good, but everyday I get up and thank god for Tony Pace & his public insight last Spring calling for the Trunzo/Messina crowd getting out. Bless him and ALL the others who have taken the message from a murmur to ear shattering.

Unfortunately, Trunzo, Messina & Company are tone deaf and will never leave until they have completely destroyed the once proud Islip GOP. The good news is that this day is right around the corner after the voters throw Trunzo out on his ear in November.

Has anyone checked to see the size of the mortgage on Third Avenue ? Just as Tony Prudenti spent his time in office paying off Blue Point someone will have to pay off the Third Avenue debt with no public jobs to offer workers and no organization to do the work. Frankly I don't see anyone standing in line for that job which is one of the reasons Trunzo/Messina are still there.
