Lynn Sweet, the Chicago Sun-Times chief Obama chaser, has compiled a tentative schedule for his upcoming foreign trip:
July 18 London
July 22 and 23 Israel
July 24 France
July 25 Germany
With stops in Jordan, Iraq (including a sit-down with Petraeus) and Afghanistan interspersed in or appended to that schedule.
It will be quite a tour -- high risk, high reward. Has there been a tour quite like this ever before? The entire presidential campaign, with a presumably massive press corps in tow, moving overseas for a week?
Worth noting: Reports that Obama may have been interested in speaking at the Brandenburg Gate in Germany, site of famous Kennedy and Reagan addresses, have set off a bit of a flurry -- negative comments from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and reports that Bush officials may have interfered. A sign of flaps to come???

For the life of me I cannot understand what he hopes to accomplish on this tour.
What?,does he want the European community 's backing and approval,too?
He has alot of nerve as a presumptive democratic nominee

If he does it is a complete insult to previous presidents of the US.
