Joe Bruno announced yesterday that he is going to work for CMA Consulting Services, a big state contractor that does work for the AG, Comptroller and OGS that has been run by Kay Stafford, a Bruno friend and the widow of ex-GOP Sen. Ron Stafford.
Turns out that they sell traffic-monitoring cameras, have been pushing a bill that would set up a pilot program to use them in Nassau County, and managed to get the Assembly transportation committee chairman (from Rochester!) to do an about-face on the idea after hiring his former aide as a lobbyist. NYT report here.
Bruno, the story reports, won't be able to lobby the legislature -- only the executive branch.
But still, it sounds like he'll feel right at home.

Traffic monitoring cameras can easily be used to spy on us. They are nothing but Big Brother in a new bottle. The fact that Bruno has anything to do with this is another example of why he had to go at ML. Bruno was a disaster as ML, stabbed Ralph Marino in the back and blurred traditional GOP philosophy. All he cared about was extending his rule, not about pursuing sound public policy.
Some people just can't wean themselves from the public teat. This guy is approaching D'Amato's level when it comes to greed and thievery. Power is the most addictive substance of them all. How do these people continue stealing unstopped? Can you spell T-H-U-G?
